There is no lack of generosity. There is an abundance, borrowing from yesterday’s prompt. Look at how hard everyone tried to make sure everyone knew that we wished for the best holidays for friends and family on Facebook. I actually developed a bit of ‘wishing weariness.’ Did you?

Don’t get me wrong, with the isolation we’ve dealt with over the last couple years with lack of hugs and touch, we want to reach out to our loved ones. But after I post ‘Happy {fill in the blank}’ then friends answer on my feed with similar greeting. Then you see them posting another greeting and then the quandary starts. At what level of wishing do we stop wishing? I mean, in your heart you still hope for everyone’s best everything. But I got off Facebook after the 25th and then the 1st, just to find real life again. When do we stop wishing Happy New Year? June?

I figured generosity begins at home. My eyes and greetings should hit my housemates and fur babies. Ah, but then I worried that I hadn’t wished generously enough. Sigh…

Your prompt for JusJoJan January 4th, 2022, is “generosity.” Use the word “generosity” any way you’d like. Have fun!

Wow! Can you believe we are back to January in a year that can look like this Y2K22? Beginning Just Jot it January, again, a prompt to write on everyday. Today’s blends with the Stream of Consciousness Saturday with the word prompt appropriate for the day, resolve.

Resolve according to Dar’s silly dictionary is to repeatedly solve. Which is how we all continue an insanity every year. Resolutions have been proven unsuccessful most of the time.

My friend and I choose to sit and write out possibilities. Last year I saw a possibility of getting healthier. It took the whole year adjusting eating habits losing over 30 pounds. And Intermittent Fasting has been the best, easiest method of my life.

This year will mean a possibility of more movement. More music making. More art enjoyments. Of course more knitting. But I’m determined to knit socks on circular needles, flippies  or whatever they call those bendy short ones, and I want to learn to use double pointed needles. Right now, loom knitting is fast and I don’t lose stitches. But I am determined to be able to use any of these methods.

I see myself writing more letters and cards. And speaking of writing, I see those many books edited and finding readers.

I see people being kinder to each other. So let’s see if we can make this and more come true!

Per Linda of the prompts:

Your prompt for #JusJoJan and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “resolve.” Use it as a noun or a verb. Have fun!

Finished Friday

Oh, and Freezing Friday. Here’s our porch light as proof. It’s creepier at night but too cold and icy to step out to take a picture.

These finished and the next already started.

Kitchener cast-on, white toes cinnamon foot, white heel and cuff.

A very satisfying finish was the series Lost in Space.

Now back to Season 13 of Doctor Who.

Oh and here’s to the finish of this horrid year

See you next year!

I am so addicted to Diamond Painting. I can only handle a bit, maybe a hour but it is so meditative. Let me see if I can show you my progress so far.

The TARDIS in the middle has the shadow on the right side.

It is slow so I’m teaching myself the multi-drillers. Here’s one of the tutorials.

I’ll let you know if it works.

HAPPY

Making Monday

And other tidbits

These are turning out fun.

Watching Dash and Lily. So cute.

A Boy Called Christmas grabbed me with the cute boy and talking mouse.

Started watching Tick, Tick, Boom. I’ll try to watch tomorrow.

It has been so cold (high of 22) that we spent most of the day in the bedroom. I did manage about an hour out in the living room. And another hour on Diamond Painting. Oh, my living room time was watching Lost in Space. DP time listening to Les Miserables. 75% finished. It’s long even on Audible.

Back to Dash/Lily and knitting.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “yum.” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!

Today was a beautiful Christmas day. I got to use my new Instapot Air Fryer. My husband bought a bag of my yellow potatoes and cut them up according to directions. After spa treatments for 20-40 minutes I layered in two servings into the pot. After twenty minutes my husband and brother had their fries. Then the second round went through for my son and I. Yes, they were yummy but this wasn’t enough, even though everyone had two helpings.

Part two of the meal was far harder than I expected. Four leg quarters, frozen. Sounded easy enough. After all I managed a whole turkey, albeit small for Thanksgiving.

But the quarters were frozen solid in a way that wouldn’t fit the pot. So microwave defrost for more than a half hour. Finally, my husband and I chopped them apart. Once again, I divided the eating teams. Instapotted two while I pulled out my pressure cooker to cook the other two. Instapot was 21 minutes. Pressure cooker only 8. Which should have the insta? Both got the air fry treatment. Both tasted yum! But that dinner left a lot to be desired while using far more kitchen and strength than it should. We will have to rethink how to best use Instapot and air fryer. Mostly I eat salmon and salad or spinach or spring mix. In fact, I haven’t eaten chicken for 40 years. I’m glad we didn’t have company. So, it was a perfect Christmas?

No, really, it was a Wonderful Christmas. I hope yours was, too.

Merry Christmas!

I hope all my friends and family have health, and love for this Christmas.

Meanwhile, we have no internet, or data, or cell. At least we’re warm. They say the internet will be back up by midnight. This storm is causing it’s trouble. Still

Have a beautiful Christmas!

Feeling Good

My brain feels fried!

And though it started melting today I still have a picture from a couple days ago to enjoy.

Maybe the snow diamonds inspired?

Beautiful Day

It never got above freezing today so the snow stayed and showed off.

Meanwhile, I listened to a bit more of the Libby audio of Les Miserables. I had to switch off Christmas carols to a Les Mis station on Pandora. All the while, I enjoyed diamond painting a sun(?).

The little numbers are hard to decipher at times, but I’m having fun.

Just to do this much, takes the back light, the daylight, the light behind me, the lights on in my glasses and a magnifying glass.

Bending at this angle hurts after a while. I hope to get better at it.

Tomorrow more snow ❄️🌨️! Someone’s been snow dancing!

My Kind of Monday

I have to admit to getting the blues from Facebook and my cloud-sharing memories. Since we moved to Christmas Valley, we have enjoyed the snow.❄️It flurried on Halloween. We looked the Hallmark Thanksgiving with snow on the proper day. Then there had been my birthday snow. A kindness that didn’t show the birthday that my daughter and partner brought Kali to me. (Wow, four years ago.) And Christmas never disappointed. Hallmark wished they knew Christmas Valley!

Then last year, as if isolation wasn’t enough, the snow was stingy. This year it seemed almost as wrong. But on my birthday I got flurries. 😁

Yesterday, I decided to try my Diamond Painting. My friend sent me a Doctor Who. So I spent the day transferring the gems to the organizers. I had Pandora on the Bing Crosby Christmas music and Audible playing Les Miserables.

My brother heard the Christmas music playing, ‘Let It Snow’ 🌨️ and decided it was time to put up the trees. Knowing Rosey will be tearing it down as often as gravity demands, it is what it is today. Sorry. I’ll try to take a nighttime picture.

Notice outside? Yep! That is what gave us the energy.

SNOW!

It’s windy now, but another batch of snow is on its way!

Yay!

🌨️

❄️

What is wrong with this picture? No mailboxes on homes in Christmas Valley. Drive (or walk as we used to before the truck) 7miles to the post office.
