Finishing Friday

I wish I were farther along than I am. But I’ll take what progress I can.

One finished two-toned sock done. The mate is nearly finished, too. Yay! Oh, these are cotton. The loom is the Flexee fine-gauge loom. Kitchener Cast-on toe. German short-row heel. Two-by-two ribbing cuff. The cast-off is a crochet type. I’m not so happy with only one chain between loomed stitches. I needed more stretch for this pair of socks.
Same cotton but a different pair. Knitting on ChiaoGoo red-lace circular needles. These are Toe-up Two At A Time Socks. Now I need to learn how to do wrap-and-turn heel. I now have three pairs waiting for my brain to catch up.
These, too, are cotton. A far finger thread. The needles are thin, I think size 1? Again, these are ChiaoGoo red-lace circular needles. I expect these to take twice as long as the thicker cotton socks. At least they are starting to be more like socks and less like bras.

I’m going to post this as a place holder. Our internet isn’t working. It is even spotty on my phone. Hitting publish now.

Edit: All I got into this post last night was the paragraph just above. The pictures came through only just this morning. Now I’ll label them.

My Stream of Consciousness Saturday may have to happen on Sunday.

There is no one in the office of our internet company to help during the weekend.😒

There was a time when everything I did or tried had to be perfect. If it wasn’t I’d give up or try something else.

Now, I’m learning to try a lot and mess up. I think as a passion pulls me to play more, I’m sure I’ll get better. There will always be those who are better. But maybe there are those who are playing by ear or off the cuff, like me who want company along the way. We’ll all get better. There’s no such thing as perfect.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “perfection.’” Use it any way you like. Enjoy!

Your prompt for #JusJoJan the 28th and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “throw in the towel.” Use the phrase “throw in the towel” somewhere in your post. Enjoy!

The piddle cleaning solution says to soak up said piddle with a towel before applying product.

Wall-to-wall piddle pads don’t prevent all piddles. And so at said piddles we throw in the towel.

Alas. Love the old gal. We’ll miss her when she’s gone, but towels will live another day for being thrown.

Here we are again, JusJoJan. A fun way to kick the resolution to write every day into gear. See what I did there?

Per Linda:. Your prompt for JusJoJan January 1st 2023, is “resolution.” Use the word “resolution” any way you’d like. Have fun!

I don’t do well with resolutions. It’s a sure fire way to get a couple of days of habit forming the good or eliminating the bad ways to fall on the floor with my inner teen rebel. I prefer seeing the end result in my head. I see if it seems in attunement with my nature. Can I see the possibilities of it working with my passions? If so no other thought is necessary.

That worked quite well for me for a couple of years. My weight had dropped and my blood tests have improved a lot. All from the thought that what my son said about Keto/fasting felt right to me. It had been easy. I don’t work hard at it. I just follow my mind/body. If, as my birthday, I want pizza, I have it with a passion and go back to healthy the next day. See? No resolution. Just keep leaning toward what feels right to my body.

Last #SoCS of the year:    Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “new/knew.’” Use one, use both, use them any way you like. Bonus points if you use both. Enjoy!

2019-2020 SoCS Badge by Shelley! https://www.quaintrevival.com

New Year is upon us. If only we knew whether it will be normal or strange as 2020.

I hope we learn new, exciting things. Ways of loving each other regardless of how different we seem to each other.

I hope our passions lead us to new talents and abilities.

May we grow in health and wealth, learn to love deeper.

Happy New Year

To Everyone

Whatever you celebrate in this season, I wish you joy, peace, love and prosperity now and for the coming year.

To all of you!
