Category: weather

On the home-stretch with the spa slippers. I’d love to find a bunch of this twisted cotton. It feels good to my hands and I bet it’ll feel great to freshly-lotioned feet.
I will probably finish this dragon tomorrow. With this weather, I may never get outside again.
Last night at Kali’s midnight outside. Today snow blizzard conditions so as not to see a mile and then shiny blue skies. Trying to keep track of the season!

I lowered my goal for CampNaNo. 25k instead of 50k. Now I have less pressure and more fun ahead.

One-Liner Wednesday

A walk completed on the Spring day in the week of seasons.

Snow yesterday, pleasant today, 80 tomorrow, back to snow Monday.

This was a shorter fold up brim. And the crown decrease I love. I have enough yarn for a child’s hat. These are wool so not everyone could wear them. But sending on to the charity. I think they will be warm for those who have to be out in the cold.

Yay! I’m about halfway done!

I took a day off walking. Between the snow blanket covering the ground for poor Kali’s 6AM outside, developing winds, and achiness walking didn’t happen. The snow was melted by actual wake up at 9AM. 😒

Word count as of last night 7,376. It’s coming right along. 😊

A hat nearing the decrease of crown.
Another couple of inches of dragon. Loving it! I’m not sure but I think I’ve added another hour of sleep as it is so meditative to work on.

The biggie is my CampNano. I am still in the years of vague memories. Though today I’ll move into my seventh year. Word count is 5,407. As soon as I post the blog I’ll get busy writing more. It is different writing memories as opposed to imagination.

So walking was walking at home. The wind was so bad there is no way it can be healthy to breathe a sky that looks like this.

It is only a mile to the main highway. You can’t see it. So…

A little snow yesterday. -1 last night. We still had snowy patches today. Too cold. Tomorrow windy. And too cold. If you’re not going to be a pretty winter let’s get on with spring! I’m tired of being cold.

Meanwhile, I stay occupied.

This was where I was on Wednesday.

I decided to try the ruler.

Game changer! The symbols are easier to see and drills go on straight. It is fun as you hear a little click as the drill clears the ruler and sticks to the canvas. You can see the difference. The top of the picture I did freehand. The bottom, I used the ruler.

Because I don’t have to strain my eyes or back using the ruler, I got a lot more done.

I’m so jazzed I can’t wait to Diamond Paint tomorrow!

Just a word about the sunset beach. My brother helped me learn a way to mix colors to get the perfect frame. Problem was I ran out of the mix. The second try just didn’t match. I was told to add water and it got runny. So I let it dry. I’ll attack tomorrow. Finished Friday will have at least one item!

Well, not quite but close.

Still need to straighten, paint on the frame, and seal.

Almost ready to heel. Well, the one on the left.

Yay!

I did meet my February goal of 25k words moved into yWriter7. In fact, I surpassed that number and set up for part two of Haven book two overall edit.

And on this Finishing Friday we started with the freezing fog. Pogonip or rime. Here’s how it looked from the warm side of the curtains:

It is like snow as you get light flurries. But you can watch crystals form on the bannisters. It’s like that science experiment of growing rock crystals. So awesome to look at and just an incredible sight.

Anyway…

For a little old lady puppy, Kali breaks my heart with cute. For some reason, she looks like a little hand puppet as she climbs into bed at night.

A gift my hubby bought both of us. Not the expensive, does everything Fitbit, but it does keep track of the basics. Now I just need to get used to wearing it. And then it needs to be warmer than 32 outside so walks won’t hurt.

This weekend we might get rain. I’m thinking wellies, raincoat and umbrella and rain dance of thankfulness.
Hopeful.

My day-to-day life in pictures. πŸ˜‹

With the backlight, you can see how my poor eyesight and eye/hand coordination wrought. When I get done I’ll straighten it all up. My purpose for sharing, though, is those white squares have symbols to let the Diamond Artist know what color tile to pop in. Maybe you can see why I get cross-eyed by the end of a session. And yet, I LOVE IT!
Nearly finished.
New socks started. A bit of yarn-chicken as I wonder if I’ll have enough of this white for a whole pair of socks.
Yeah, I’m back to playing my recorders. I thought I had German recorders. But the sound was off sometimes sharp or flat. I figured with practice my breath and fingers would get better. Nope. Now I find out I have Baroque recorders. Different fingering to learn. From the bottom double hole go up to one above the first single hole. That next hole up is smaller. That is the key that shows the type of recorder you have. So back to the drawing board so to speak.
Just so you see there is still editing progress. I’m feeling positive I’ll hit my goal before the end of the month.
Quick weather report. We got a dusting of snow. And it’s cold!

#JusJoJan, January 18, 2022, Cycle

The cycle of Pogonip, White Death, or freezing fog to the rest of us seems over. I’m kind of sad as it was fun to see from the window. And now we slip back into the extreme draught. On the plus side, it’ll be warm enough for a while to take my walks. But one last picture of the leftovers from the trees and bushes.

Dropped Pogonip is now snow on the driveway.

Your prompt for JusJoJan January 18th, 2022, is β€œcycle.” Use the word β€œcycle” any way you’d like. Have fun!

See the strings of icy lace on the lower right? They’ve been growing for days from our Pogonip.

My joy is the weather around here. Well, when it’s snowy and beautiful. Pogonip tried to fool us.

The ‘nip’ started falling from the trees like snow. This fog seems never ending. And it’s cold! I can understand why being out in it could cause illness. It hurts to breathe it. But for this homebody looking through the window, it’s a joy.
