The Walking Dead Deluxe #20The Walking Dead Deluxe #20 by Robert Kirkman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a short review. Sorry. It has been a while since I read it. I was excited to see Michonne again. I love reading these in Kindle format because I can see so much more. I can enlarge the cell and see the words and pictures so much better.

Per Linda:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is โ€œwallpaper.โ€ย Use it however youโ€™d like. Have fun!

Wallpaper has become a symbol of the angst of new technology. Each new phone, Fire, and computer has wallpaper choices. They try to get me to choose something with buildings, but I reject those pictures. I like the ones with nature most prominent. Sunsets and beaches are my favorites. How about something like these?

If you’ve been following me for a while, you probably have already picked up on the themes of my life.

In real life, I prefer no wallpaper. Mostly it makes the walls feel busy. My life and home are too busy to have it appear on the walls. I don’t even enjoy putting up pictures. That’s funny in that I spend a lot of time making pictures! I wish I could just do the pictures and let others pin them on their walls. I like the process.

Well, back to my newest Diamond fun. Wallpaper begets this wallflower.

Finished Friday

Yahoo! I can report something finished on an actual Friday!

Tomorrow I seal and washi tape frame. The next is already calling me.

I only titled it that way to remind me once again. It’s been every day of the week today. I hate it when it’s like that.

I’m sorry for not getting down to personal bits here. Seems I’m barely showing up since my little vacation. My rhythm is way off.

The only consistent thing is knitting. Here are the newest slipper socks I finished yesterday.

Sadly the cell didn’t pick up the deep purple.

Oops! Speaking of purple. My other constant. Though not as much time is spent diamond painting as I’d like.

I think of this as the purple planet. It goes with the book I’ve listened to while working on it.

Busy is calling. I’ll check in more tomorrow.

Yellow WifeYellow Wife by Sadeqa Johnson

This is a challenging, necessary read. But with Robin Miles narrating, the story became something I couldn’t stop ‘reading.’ It is a book written colloquially, so I think without narration, it might have seemed bad writing. But as you hear how the language is spoken, it feels quite natural.

I have never heard the term “Yellow Wife.” But it makes sense. How horrid the things humans have done to humans. I don’t understand that at all. To force people to work beyond their capacity or force women to marry those they didn’t love or chose to be with. It is all baffling.

At any rate, I am glad there are authors to take us into the past to see the kinds of things that have happened.

Since it was based on someone who had existed and that person’s history, the fiction around it became something believable. Just bring a box of Kleenex and gird up your loins for a good story that includes the cruelties of humans against humans.

Michone! Need I say more? She is why I started watching and continue to be intrigued by the series no matter what form I consume. In fact, the depth of characters, especially the female ones, grows with each new birthed version. Finally, books and shows that have true equality. Even the bad guys show their good sides, and all the others show faults to overcome.

These Kindle versions are shorter but, for a $1.99 pack quite the story. And far better than the paper comic books in that you can enlarge the font or pictures for better understanding.

Prompt of the day, per Linda:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is โ€œwash/awash.โ€ย Use one, use both, use โ€™em any way you like. Bonus points for using both. Enjoy!

Plans for the ADD person are complicated at best. But with the addition of nearly 100 degrees, cleaning vomit from the dog who seems not to get along with her meds, then the trips outside and all the normal things to do in a day. My plans were awash. Not laundry. Just washed away.

Instead of writing or getting projects into yWriter7, WriteItNow, and Scrivener, I found a video game that I could download from the game group I bought from ages ago. I have a ton of writing that needs editing and moved around. Overwhelm much? Yep!

The story is horrid. The games and hidden objects help distract the heat and guilt of not doing the jobs I should.

So I bathed myself in non-adulting for a change! Take that, adult world! Awash in fun for a change!
