A pair of socks closer to the heel now. Finishing with 2by2 ribbed cuff.
Another charity hat.
My NaNoWriMo book, ‘Crystal’, is nearly caught up to date. I’m supposed to be at 36,674 words. I have 36,087 so I’m going to random word prompt until I can meet the quota.
Though this was a well-written story and the narrator, William DeMeritt, did a fantastic job. It is too tough to handle at bedtime. The very things that make this a great book for everyone to read, are what made it hard to swallow when it was time to gentle into sleep. I suggest reading this earlier in the day. The history plays true. The awakening, though fiction, portrays real-life that still plays out in some peoples’ lives. I highly recommend reading this book
Black and white has been the constant of my life. It was the nightmares, yet the bright dreams, too. When earliest memories are of sitting in front of the keys and perfection demanded, black and white. No shades of gray.
Suddenly black and white was a super power. I dreamed my house was piano keys. That I had a swimming pool in my black and white kitchen no gray needed.
Per Ms. Hill:
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “black, gray, and white.” Use one, use ’em all. Bonus points if you use all three. Have fun!
Not a lot of time to get this out and make sure I get all the words I need for NaNoWriMo for today, so I’ll make this fast.
My latest binge has been Roswell. I wish this show was on every day! I love it. I had watched the first two seasons before, but I am excited to have just finished season 3. And now I have learned that there will be a season 4! Whoop! Now that it is over, I may go back and rewatch from the beginning.
Now back to my writing. The current count is 29,3888. I hope to reach 30,006
I had to miss yesterday. I went to town (two hours away) to get an upper GI procedure done. I barely got 400 words before I left and had no energy when I got home for anymore. So today, I had to play catch up. My friend and I are finding when we get together on Zoom, we are reasonably productive. We do a bit of a chat but then get right to it. Sometimes we talk about our projects and somehow, bringing the story to light seems to give us a push. This is her first year in a long time that she’s felt up to NaNoWriMo. But she’s being gentle and keeping it accessible for herself to feel good about it. Her goal is 25K, and she is going great guns. I love hearing about her story.
My own story is coming along. It surprises me that the story that started out as a bunch of drawings for #Inktober. Yet the characters feel as real as if they lived in this house with me. Anyway, Crystal now has 26,873 words that make me just a smidge ahead of today’s count.
Oh, the pickles that Crystal and her friends get up to!
Knitting still continues. I think I will have a hat finished in the next few days. I can say, happily, that the mohair is finally gone!
I also have two pairs of socks in the making. This one is ahead of the race. I like to work on them two at a time, so they stay the same length as their mate. This one is for a male, so the heel will be another four inches from here.
This was a lot more fun than the last book I read. I really enjoyed hearing Lulu Miller tell her story and someone else’s while showing what had influenced her life.
I wanted to be a marine biologist in my way younger days. So this book was up my alley in many ways. Of course, that only lasted for ninth grade, and I learned that math was required for that and being an astronaut. Still, the love of the non-existent fish (and space travel) lingers in my life.
My friend recommended this, and I was able to find it on Libby. I didn’t want to do anything but listen to this story, so I got it done far quicker than most books. Lulu Miller did a great job weaving her life with one she admired. I felt like I was with her experiencing everything with her.
If you get the chance to read/listen to this book, I highly recommend it!
This is probably one of the worst books ever. It was worse than a history book in that it was fiction. Two things I do say that is the positive things, there are more females listed than in most history books. And the narrator, Simon Vance, did a great job keeping the story interesting in spite of no story to tell.
If you love history books this is a book for you. I’m not at all looking forward to the new show that is supposed to be about the Game of Thrones prior to the series. I just hope the show can bring more individual stories more depth and, geez, let’s enjoy the riding of a dragon here or there!
