Another Sh-h-h But Finished! Yay!

I love this sort of scrappy hat. The colors called to me and I just knitted them in.

Oh, the yarn is just acrylic. I had very little turquoise so I used it sparingly. This is knitted on the white KB (72 peg) fine gauge.  One-by-one brim. then according to the tension, I used the flat-knit, u-knit, or e-wrap. I used the Russian join to change colors. It turned out kind of small for my head but I think it will fit a friend. Sh-h-h! (Sorry for blurry or dark pictures. I blame the photographer-me.)

Bad to the Crone (A Spell's Angels Mystery, #1)Bad to the Crone by Amanda M. Lee
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was fun! I love the main character, Scout, and her sense of humor. Even in the worst of times, when she is trying to save a poor girl who needed to see love for once, that sense of humor plays it out.

There is a near budding romance that seems like it might never happen. But the two are fun characters separately or together.

Scout doesn’t know her own strength and is constantly surprised by what she can do. She just thinks she’s a witch. At other times she surprises everyone else and does what she knows. Most of the time she just tries to exist while trying to make the world a better place.

Okay, this review doesn’t say what I want to say. That is, I enjoyed this book. So much that I have started the second in the series where I am learning more about Scout’s background. Thank you, Kindle Unlimited for letting me read both books.

Per Linda:  Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “ingle.” Find a word that contains “ingle” and use it any way you’d like in your post. Have fun!

Remember when it was beginning to look a lot like Winter? Let’s just say we skipped Christmas, New Year’s, Valentine’s Day and went straight for March! The snow melted as if a giant hairdryer as been going for days. That rumbling outside is actually the wind, not Krampus. And that jingling you hear is a witch’s bell on her bicycle!

When Kali goes outside I stay inside. I stand on the warm side of the storm door. That whistling-whooshing makes me expect the biggest monster drooling to eat my poor pup.

Is my house going to leave the isolation of the desert and try to fly to mingle with others in the big cities where it is still Christmas?

I wish I could grab a can of Pringles. This wind makes me nervous! (Yeah, that was a freebie.) I’d have to go out in the bluster and live through it! Besides, the town has already rolled up the carpet and gone to bed. A single can of Pringles, is that too much to ask? Just thinking of shaking that can, gives me a tingle.

Okay, that is as far as my stream takes me. Those who can: Mingle!

Just change that to knitting/loom knitting. And don’t you feel like throwing things at the TV when this interrupts the flow? I gotta lay down in the middle of a count to pick up both remotes cause it is never the right one first. Then I have to go back and figure out what I was doing. Usually, that means I have to tink back a stitch or two. If only Netflix could see how counterproductive this is! Oh, and if I am using it to help me sleep, this wakes me back up. Can we sue for our own sanity? Please!

And back to the loom. See ya all soon!

One-Liner Wednesday

Merry Christmas from our house to yours!

That white outside is snow. We are expecting more tonight and tomorrow.

My brother decided to jump in and do most of it this year. I held Kali while my son held the regular Christmas redecorator, Rosey. The pretties makes it feel slightly warmer in the coldest room in the house. But quickly that is closed down and we all go to our warm bedrooms. Still the heart knows the Holiday is observed.

I know I’ve added extra lines. But the only one that counts is the first one before the pictures. One-liner Wednesdays is a fun prompt by Linda G. Hill. I hope you will all join in by clicking her name and learning how easy and fun this is!

Another sock.

Is it really a cowl for a small elephant?

Jeweltones?

But it is soft!

Soon this will make a pair.

The Spellslinger (A Fistful of Daggers #4)The Spellslinger by S.M. Reine

Sara Reine has done it again. I love that we get to visit our favorite characters over and over in an ever-renewing timeline. Once again we visit the Reno-Tahoe area which for me, makes for one more character to enjoy.

Through the characters, Ms. Reine asks questions that remind me of why I loved Sci-fi for all my life. With deities, angels, and demons, subjects like philosophy, religion, and why things happen the way they do, and how it applies to our norms, all this comes up in the course of the story and makes the reader think. That is my favorite kind of writing. It isn’t preachy, it doesn’t even set up any rule to follow. These are questions the characters present as they chase down the next plot twist.

Ms. Reine writes so well and keeps the reader involved. I almost always finish her books quickly as I don’t want to stop reading until the end.

As always, I suggest a person go back to the beginning, Six Moon Summer and read the gazillion other books, they are all terrific. I can’t wait to read the next book! What will she come up with next?
