Duolingo

Who knew? It’s fun!

Per Linda:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: โ€œthe first 3 words of the first full sentence.โ€ Okay, follow me here. This is what I want you to do: 1. Grab the closest book to you when you sit down to write your post. 2. Open it to a random page. 3. Locate the first complete sentence on that page. 4. Use the first three words of that sentence to start your post, then take it from thereโ€“write whatever comes to mind. Thatโ€™s it! Have fun!

Memory is necessary… Duh!

Most of the easy to grab books from my recliner are knitting or crochet ones. Or writing. This book was part of the inspiration for last year’s NaNoWriMo. Pensรฉes, French for Reflexions. The book is dry but there are pearls of wisdom along with some biased thoughts education and reason can overcome.

By the way, the full quote is: Memory is necessary for all the operations of reason. So much better than: To create an airy grid texture, crochet using the TSS into the back bump of the Return Row (see chapter Stitch Bars, picture E, No. 5).

Although, come to think of it: To create an… Leaves lots to a far different blog entry.

End of stream. Duo and crochet are calling.

Hey, WordPress, I do my Duo and then I blog. EVERYDAY! Why do you have me at such a low number?

Almost finished with my dragon.

Maybe finishing tomorrow.

Second sock nearly caught up with first sock. Heels start tomorrow.

And memoir is coming along.

I only need 8,590 words and can get there writing 1,227 a day. No prob, right?

Feeling Good

My brain feels fried!

And though it started melting today I still have a picture from a couple days ago to enjoy.

Maybe the snow diamonds inspired?

Ich Bin Mรผde!

Sorry, I’m stuck in Duolingo German! I am tired! Three days this week, spending 3 or 4 hours driving. I’m worn out. And I need to go back tomorrow.

I remember when I was 22, my husband and I drove 4 hours to see our folks. At that age, 4 hours of driving a day were tiring.

Some people here do this every day. They drive those hours to get to and from work. They must have terrific jobs, and they must pay them a lot of money because I’m going through a lot of money just going back and forth.

Anyway, my husband is spending one more night at the hospital. They found that he had two ulcers from taking medications that were messing him up. So maybe the fall that sent him to the hospital actually found things before they caused too much trouble. They just needed to watch him overnight.

At another time, I could have stayed with him at night, but with the fear of COVID19, they try to make sure that there’s only one visitor and the visitor can only stay during the daytime.ย  I think that my own fear, having heard how much the hospital is dealing with new and more dangerous cases in younger people, has me extra cautious. Even though we are vaccinated, I fear that there are still strains or other types of flu just waiting for those who aren’t vigilant. I haven’t gotten the other cases of flu for decades as keeping isolated during outbreaks. At the time, I thought I was allergic to the vaccines. It was a doctor that told me not to take the shots after a bad outcome one year. Now though, I’ve heard they are no longer making them with albumin, so I may be taking the shots from now on.ย  But like many, I have a few immune issues, and so I have been conscientious. It isn’t that I’m afraid of dying. I don’t like being sick. Been there, done that, and being in bed unable to do anything while being miserable is worth fighting against!

Well, midnight is creeping up, and I need to get to bed and get ready for another ride. Okay. It isn’t all horrid. I am getting lots of singing done. Great for breath and mental health! And the view through the mountainous areas with trees and the occasional deer is so peaceful. I’m glad that the pain I used to get through that part of the ride is down to just a little achy and not an all-over pain storm. Still, I am going to be happy without going any more this week!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

have a good weekend

Tooting Tuesday

I played chicken with the yarn. At first, I tried a small pair of slipper socks, but there wasn’t enough. So I decided to try one more ear warmer. No yarn leftover, and a smaller head will have to wear it.

And look what Duolingo sent me in my email.

I’m looking forward to tomorrow where I age up from 07 to 17. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Per Linda:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is โ€œlink.โ€ Use it as a noun or a verb; use it any way youโ€™d like. Enjoy!

It is hot here. I don’t want to turn on the laptop and heat the room further. But the hardest part of posting from my phone is keeping the links right. Hopefully, credit goes where it is due.

Weird that the prompt is a word I’ve used often this past week as I sang the praises of  the Flexee Loom. Still loving it  as I work hat number three.

As I close this cellphone quickie, I plan to do my Duolingo. And the word for ‘left ‘ in German is ‘links’

Sorry the segways didn’t link up better.

Have a great weekend!

It is 10 PM and I still have to finish 2,000 words for #CampNaNo and blog my #A-Z/#WDIIA. Okay, I will have to do this fast. At least I finished most of my languages on Duolingo. Well, I did German and Espaรฑol. But not franรงais or Esperanto. I usually spend a good half hour on the languages.

What Day Is Itย  Anyway? Well, we started the day with Sunday Morning and then an e-service on Zoom. So looking at the lower corner of my computer informs me that it is the fifth of April. How confusing has your day been? Sometimes the people in your house seem like enemies instead of loved ones. Then we realize we are all scared and the one thing we don’t want is to lose these people. I would guess the tighter the budget right now the harder it is to keep it together.

So that leads me to the 50,000-word challenge of CampNaNo. So up until now, I have amassed 4,735 words. I should be at 8,335. So if you will

I better get over to yWriter and write. I’ll try to give a bit of a summary tomorrow. My fingers and imagination need to fly! Ah, but that is a letter for tomorrow!

I hope you are doing well, staying safe and figuring out how to get along in all of this epidemic.

Per Linda:

Itโ€™s Sunday, and time for the 19th prompt for Just Jot it January 2020, brought to us byย Jim. Thank you so much, Jim! Please be sure to visit his blog to read his post and say hello. And follow him while youโ€™re there!.

Your prompt for JusJoJan January 19th,ย 2020,ย is โ€œgobbledygook.โ€ Use the word โ€œgobbledygookโ€ any way youโ€™d like. Have fun!

Is it just me, or are the prompts harder this year? Last year I felt a bit of inspiration with each prompt. This year my brain comes up with gobbledygook.ย Thank goodness in that that is exactly what I needed tonight.

We are now bingeing on Anne With An E and loving it far more than I thought I would. I kept telling myself that I was waiting until I read the books. And I obviously want to read it for when I went to see if I have it in my kindle or audible library I found I had four different versions of the complete set of books.

Though I have enjoyed taking German and Spanish on Duolingo for a few years now, the subtitles of French that show up on Anne With An E do look like gobbledygookย to me. I tried to take that language, too, but taking more than one language is probably unwise. But I never can decide at which language I want to excel in.

Well, there you go, I did think of something to discuss! Here’s the Anne With An E trailer.
