Click on the pic to enlarge that picture in the corner. My new DP.
It came with this sheet of paper. Not only the symbol for the color but quantity. And another pic to show what you’re working on.
As all kits so far, the wax and pen. I love the little white tray. Most have the green ones that don’t line the diamonds up so well.
And rather than a long strip of drills, each color has it’s own baggy. The bags of black. Yikes!
The other side of the drill package.

But that’s not all I’m working on.

I want a collection of the many Fair Isle, self-striping super washed wool cakes from Willows. I just discovered I don’t have a hat of my own. I’m hoping one of these will fit me, if not gifts!
Both these hats are being knitted on ChiaoGoo red-lace circulars 16″ cables, the brown hat has size 6 US, the pink size 7. This wool is so soft!
I’m still working on the HiyaHiya Fliers sock. I only have that Pretty White skein. It is a light green. At first this was only an experiment. I had planned to frog the sock when satisfied, but I’m so happy with how it’s going that I want to make a pair. So I picked up the denim color to help there to be enough yarn for a small sized pair of socks.
I wanted to be finished with these boot-socks today. But I still need to do the Kitchener cast-off on the last toe. Sadly these  turned out slightly too large for the giftee. Maybe they’re okay for slipper socks. They will be warm!!!
These bamboo on the CinDWood sock loom are nearly to the cuff and finish.
These socks on the Flexee fine-gauge loom are nearing the heel part that will be white like the toe.
Two more projects hang out in the bin as there isn’t enough room to have everything out. Cotton slipper socks on Flexee fine-gauge loom. And a plarn water-bottle carrier. That’s a crochet so not as finger friendly for me.

That’s all I can think of. My poor writing project seems stalled again. Maybe after Christmas I’ll have less pressing projects and can get back into it.

Happy

Since I blogged about the beautiful snow. I’m not so excited anymore. That snow is still here. It hasn’t gotten warm enough to melt. And we’ve had a couple snows since. And another storm coming on the weekend. Had anyone told the weather that it’s not winter yet?

Poor Kali hasn’t wanted to go outside for a month. It’s too deep and icy for her aged body.

Ah so let’s see. I’ve shared my finished socks. My other socks aren’t progressing as fast.

Oh! I know! I haven’t shown sunflower progress.

Maybe I’ll be finished tomorrow.

And I guess I should give the final word count for Reflexions.

That’s where I was a couple nights ago. On the 30th I hit 33,003 and called it good. Teddy’s character is fun. I hope I can get all the bits to fit together like a real story. I reset a goal of 17,000 for December. I’m starting this first part reviewing all I’ve written so I can figure out where and when it is happening.

Hope you all are staying warm. Thank goodness we are!

Finishing Friday

Finished actually with these nice warm boot socks. Thank you, Jennifer, for teaching me!

At this rate only one person gets a Christmas gift before the holiday. But I’m really quite happy with my first attempt at knitting with 4 DPS (double pointed needles).

And now I’m working on my second pair. Hopefully to live in the same house as the first pair.

I’m loving working this way. Knitting like this hurts less than any other yarn work.

No where near finished. In fact, I seem to be a day behind.

So time to go get some writing done.

Finishing Friday

As I promised the finished hat, now in the charity bag.

ChiaoGoo circular needles made this easy.

Heels are happening now.

Kali is helping me pose the picture but I couldn’t reach the other sock due to the puppers. In fact, the CinDWood fine-gauge loom has half the heel done.

Shoot. I can’t show you the other double pointed needle socks that are also at heel stage. I need my tutoring session to learn how to ‘turn a heel’.

Okay Word Count calls. Currently at 5,441 so I still need lots more before bedtime. See ya tomorrow!

Finishing Friday

Making progress. It sure needs straightening.
Received the book inspiring my NaNoWriMo for this year. Lots to do before Halloween midnight!
Kali sleeps while I display the DPN socks. Next I learn to finish the heel. That lesson is on Tuesday. I can’t wait!

Meanwhile, I think I have enough yarn to make one more hat for charity.

No picture of plumbing issues. I don’t want to see it. But my shower is weeks from being done. The floor is finally dry. Now to get rid of the mold that has formed in the wall for years, maybe decades. The plumbing is put together. Once mold free the walls go back up. Meanwhile, I’m sorting

Yes, still letting ‘sleeping dog’ lie. The sock on the left had to be frogged and started over. It seems like no progress but that sock is now past where it was when I had to reknit.
I’ll probably get more done on these this weekend.

Mostly my aim is to have enough characters and a bit of plot on some kinda world. Three days!!!!! Yikes!!!!

What are you working on?

Flexee fine-gauge wool socks were farther along. The one on the bottom was that full ball finished. I didn’t like something so I had to tink back to the white part. I’ll have to do that to the top sock, too.
Ready to learn Turn heel.
This is the pattern I’m following in my knitting class. My next step is ‘Turn heel’ on the first sock.
Sock 2 cuff finished. Now on to the leg.
HiyaHiya Fliers sock cuff finished. Now I need to watch the YouTube for the next part.
One bamboo sock nearly to the heel. Sock number 2 nearly there, too. (CinDWood sock looms)
Almost halfway done with the Sunflowers.

I’m learning so much while having a great time. Oh. And here comes NaNoWriMo! First character is nearly formed. Pensées is the working title. Olive Odette Pensées is my first character. The story is starting to form. I can’t wait! Who’s joining me?

Two weeks!

Finishing Friday

Well, I did finish a couple things.

Yay! My favorite hat yet! And it fits me. That makes it hard to put in the charity bag. Someone will like it to I hope.
This is the leftover yarn.
These are the ChiaoGoo circular needles I used in the last three hats. The upper right is US 7 24 inch. The right is US 8 16 inch. The left is my favorite and made this last hat. US 8 40 inches. When it was time to decrease I could magic circle a couple times to make it easier.
I hope you can read this. I finally found this pattern. It was the one I memorized early on and kept it in the ole noodle. LOL!

I started one more hat. I may be playing yarn chicken. Hope I have enough.

This is more info than I wanted to share as someone who likes bamboo socks will know.😉

Sock on the right HOTL (Hot Off The Loom). The purple yarn is from The Willows a local yarn shop. It is so soft. The white is leftovers from another project. It it thicker but good for toes and heels. The fuzzy yarn of the cuff is from a friend. I’m not sure I’d like it next to my skin but leggings might be nice under. Keep or gift, that is the question. LOL!!!

Progress on Daisies.

Finishing Friday

Since the bear and other toy haven’t progressed at all since last seen they don’t rate a picture. I promise, this weekend I’ll stuff, sew, and make faces. On them and myself!

Does it count if progress was made then tinking had to happen? I’m almost to the point of the dreaded goof. Then the hat will become.
This hat shows promise. Two inches then time to decrease crown.
This latecomer hat is nearing end of brim.
Scrappy slipper socks farther along than before mad frogging. Ankles and cuff are all that’s left. Yay!
Starry Night is nearly finished. Tomorrow or Sunday. It’s inspiring my own inner artist to come out.
My Van Gogh sketch wants to be transferred to canvas then painted or pasteled. Scary. I’ve never done a painting outside of the occasional paint-by-number. Wish me luck!

Finishing Friday

This is the feet and pants of the bear I’m learning to knit. See yesterday’s blog for the YouTube.

By the way, see the end of the needles? These were part of a little box my mom gave me decades ago. I don’t know what the gob is. Maybe putty? Gum? And I’m not sure but that these may be ivory from the days when we did such horrors as chop of elephant tusks for our knitting or makeup supplies. Still, it is cool to have inherited my mother’s needles.

This will be another hat.

This little squiggly doll was made a year or so ago. I don’t like stuffing and sewing so he went into the WIP cave of lost souls. But my daughter’s new interest in knitting toys gave me a boost to try and finish him. I need to stuff and sew on the arms and give him a hat or hair and a face.

Two hats
Frogged and remounted socks.
A lapdog that wouldn’t let me knit.❤️
On my last third of the diamond painting.

Finished the right third and top of middle third.
I took this when closing down yesterday. This was before I started on the middle. It is soothing, and cooling to work on this one.
This pair of slipper socks will be finished this weekend.
Toes done on this pair. It’ll take some time before they are done. They are bigger and finer-gauged.

On the writing front, I’ve entered a few more of my books into yWriter. I even worked on the memoir a bit. Now that I’ve moved into the new laptop I’m having a bit more time to get creative again.

It may seem I’ve been reading a lot. The fact is, when the electronics were down, I got behind in reviews and writing. Now I’m finally catching up.

Been busy. How was your week?
