Happy Cat’s Day.

Happy Cat’s Day.

Should be Finishing Friday, but hey, ADHD.

Okay, progress has been slow, but for the record:

Piano is harder to show progress. Has anyone noticed that once the usual mistakes are eliminated almost regularly, that brand new mistakes pop up? Even still, I think I’m ready to tape another Warts and All. While polishing up old challenges, I have new ones I’m learning bit by bit. I’ll list them later. I’m running out of energy and words.

There’s a bit of month left over but by meandering through the alphabet I’ve hit Z. No more letters And…
Zero stitches to knit on Chris’s birthday socks!

A quick review of my favorite sock pattern:
Turkish cast-on starts the toe. Increase to width of foot. Work width until nearing the arch. Rib the arch. A couple inches of width-knit. Then start Fleegle Heel. Knit width of ankle for a couple of inches. Then rib desired cuff length. Jeny’s stretchy cast-off finished the sock. You can research this site or YouTube for each of the identified bits of the Chiaogoo Two At A Time Socks.
Now on to the other socks I started earlier but had to put away for the birthday socks. Yay!

Zero angst!
YAY! My brother likes his socks!

Just for review: these were Turkish cast-on. Chiaogoo needles Two at a Time socks. Then arch ribbing. Fleegle Heel, my favorite.
I thought I was finished at a 2″ cuff, but my brother needed a longer one for his boots. Otherwise, I would have been finished on his birthday.
Towards the end I had to rely on Advil and Aspercreme. But now my hands can rest a bit.
I found a bunch of unfinished WIPs. Here are a couple calling me:

I’m nearly finished with Smiling Turtle!

I think next week I’ll record my favorite songs. I’m loving Going Home, God Bless The Child, Just the Way You Are, and a few more. With my new enthusiasm for improv or composition I now have a keyboard within reach of my every perch. (Recliner, bed, Dabbling Den)
I didn’t get ‘Dar’s Dabbling Den’ rearranged yet. I want to make more room for my Yamaha keyboard near my piano. Maybe this weekend?
I’d like to make it easier to switch gears, bring in violin, ukulele, recorders, art challenges, podcast or book narrations.
Since COVID months ago, I’ve not been able to get faster than 5 miles in 35. But I’m still trying. And now that spring may have arrived I need to find walking time. Still a work in progress!
Oh, and I am three book reviews behind.
Duolingo still plugs along. I seem more focused on Italian. It’s easier. I still visit the other languages when the spirit moves me.😉

My other projects are holding their own. Not much progress. I can announce that yesterday I managed my 5 miles in 30 minutes on my stationary bike. Today, though, I just managed 15 minutes. My body is still not up to par.

Yay! I finished it!

Now on to my next.

Progress on the socks? Sure.

My uke is calling and it’s almost midnight! Yikes!
Happy Weekend

So I bit the bullet. I tried the Fishlip Heel. I watched the tutorials over and over. I got this far with the heel.

The blue yarn is my lifeline. I’m about to tink back one last time. I don’t want to wear out this yarn so I’ll create the Fleegle Heel I love so much. If someone can lead me to a tutorial for the Fishlip that makes sense I’ll try again with new yarn rather than fatigue the current yarn. I can’t share the Fishlip tutorials but once again here’s my favorite sock tute.
I hope you are having a better Monday than me.

One pair done!

Used these two tutorials to help out. I’ve nearly memorized both.
What makes me very happy is seeing all the family that live with me, were wearing their slipper socks during these chilly days and loving them. I hope this pair finds happy feet.
My hands are tired. But the heels are turned. Just the leg and cuff left to do. Yay!
