Tag Archive: Turkish cast-on

Yay!

One pair done!

Used these two tutorials to help out. I’ve nearly memorized both.

What makes me very happy is seeing all the family that live with me, were wearing their slipper socks during these chilly days and loving them. I hope this pair finds happy feet.

Finishing Friday

As soon as I do one more row the sock on the right will be ready for bind-off. The sock on the right could have been finished, but I wanted green on the cuff so I will tink down and add the green from a different part of the skein.
A fine gauge toe finished. On to the foot. I think I’ll do ribbing as I love how the Sneaker Socks feels.
A nice pair of slipper socks started.
Ribbing of a hat finished. Now on to the rest of the hat. I will have to buy more of this buttery soft yarn.
I need to have 28k by now. Sadly, I am 4k behind. So back to work.
Yeah. At this rate I’ll be done December 5. 😥
Saw this on Facebook. Cute, huh?

Finishing Friday

Another try at the Sneaker Sock.

This time I used the Turkish Cast-on. But since I think I understand the rest of the pattern now, I think I’ll give it one more try. The next stage is an arch ribbing to keep the sock snug.

I’m happy with the first pair but hope to improve. For the pattern and tutorial click back a couple days on this blog

Finishing Friday

Just a picture of the pairs with the most progress.

Leftover yarn making shorty socks. Nearly to the heel. Turkish cast-on heading to Fleegle heel.
I may actually finish these before midnight. Doing Jenny’s cast-off.

There’s a couple more I’m working on but it’s late and I still have Duolingo to do before midnight.

Happy weekend!

Finishing Friday

Finished! Ready to mail. Cotton mix. With enough leftover that I started another pair of socks.
Starting the new pair with a Turkish cast-on.
Right more rows of Continental worked ribbing. I think these bamboo yarn socks will be done by next Friday.
Just keep my hands busy with the looms. Somehow I like working with ChiaoGoo Red-lace Circular Needles, Toe-up Two At A Time Socks with Turkish cast-on, Fleegle Heel, mostly knitting right-handed, Ribbing Continental, and Jenny’s stretchy cast-off. But if my hands tire of knitting the Flexee Fine Gauge starting with the Kitchener cast-on for dif.
Because these are finer gauge needles and yarn, my hands don’t enjoy working on this pair as much. But I do like the colors and how soft the yarn and material feels.
Fun!

How Free is Free

How does a free blog site work when everything is tied to dollars? How do you create content without using proprietary themes when it seems even the colors and fonts are tied to upgrades for usage? Is it even possible? I hope to find out.
