So I finally am finished aligning the drills. I must complain about the glue not holding properly in some places while not allowing an alignment shift in others. So I took a pic prior to doing a layer of Mod Podge.

I will put another layer of Mod Podge tomorrow then paint a frame on Wednesday. Thursday it will find a place on my wall. Yay!

Today I started the new fun Diamond Painting. I received this new project of four pieces. Four dragons!

I pulled out one and chose to work on it without peeking.

Right away I’m impressed with the key and symbols. Just alphanumeric. And clear. So much easier on my eyes. And the sample picture makes me excited. It is bigger than either of my last two DP projects.

I like that the company seeks to provide the best–the paragraph on top.
Here’s what came rolled up in the picture. The package of diamonds, the pen, the green sorting bin with pink wax, and little resealable bags. I won’t use them until I’m finished with the project.

Here is how the packages of0 diamonds, drills, came. Way better than my previous works.

Look at this easy-to-see and understand symbol key.
Preview.

And now I am kitted up.

Tomorrow I’ll tape the edges. Then I’ll roll up the bottom, section off the top with release paper. And start dotting on the upper right working left then down. It keeps my hands off the sticky bits that way.

Here is the kit if you are interested.

Well, not quite but close.

Still need to straighten, paint on the frame, and seal.

Almost ready to heel. Well, the one on the left.

Yay!

I did meet my February goal of 25k words moved into yWriter7. In fact, I surpassed that number and set up for part two of Haven book two overall edit.

And on this Finishing Friday we started with the freezing fog. Pogonip or rime. Here’s how it looked from the warm side of the curtains:

It is like snow as you get light flurries. But you can watch crystals form on the bannisters. It’s like that science experiment of growing rock crystals. So awesome to look at and just an incredible sight.

Anyway…

My day-to-day life in pictures. 😋

With the backlight, you can see how my poor eyesight and eye/hand coordination wrought. When I get done I’ll straighten it all up. My purpose for sharing, though, is those white squares have symbols to let the Diamond Artist know what color tile to pop in. Maybe you can see why I get cross-eyed by the end of a session. And yet, I LOVE IT!
Nearly finished.
New socks started. A bit of yarn-chicken as I wonder if I’ll have enough of this white for a whole pair of socks.
Yeah, I’m back to playing my recorders. I thought I had German recorders. But the sound was off sometimes sharp or flat. I figured with practice my breath and fingers would get better. Nope. Now I find out I have Baroque recorders. Different fingering to learn. From the bottom double hole go up to one above the first single hole. That next hole up is smaller. That is the key that shows the type of recorder you have. So back to the drawing board so to speak.
Just so you see there is still editing progress. I’m feeling positive I’ll hit my goal before the end of the month.
Quick weather report. We got a dusting of snow. And it’s cold!

Making Monday

Sunset on a beach is more done than not. These are square drills. Drills are the tiny plastic diamonds that create the mosaic effect. For my eyes, it is harder to get the squares lined up than the tiny round disc drills. Still, I am hooked and love my Diamond Painting time.
Another hat more done than not. That white yarn is chenille. Not the same as the last hat. This was thicker and harder to work. Still, if you’ve ever had a chenille robe, you know it is soft and warm. I still have more of the mohair. Thought I’d change it up so this hat won’t be a candy corn.

On the editing front I’m making headway. Haven Above and Beyond (I think I’ll be changing the title) is more fun than I remember writing 20 years ago. Since this was my second novel I can see my writing has improved, yet I make many similar errors still. Anyway, the words corrected and moved into yWriter7 as of last night 14,365. I made my goal for this month 25K. But there are 56,916 in the project to weed through.

Outside of whoopie, what are you making this Monday?

Making Monday

Busy, busy, busy! I’m having fun. For the most part, except for

See the marker? Yeah. Somehow that bit of squiggly yarn escaped being knitted in. So. Tinking. Unknitting.  Unmaking. Poor hat was making great progress. 😢

Finally, we put the TARDIS on the wall.

I hope the Command Strips hold. We put Duct Tape on the back to give a more nonporous surface. If not, I know a Dollar General that has actual frames!

My Beach Sunset is coming along. Here is how I protect between the sessions.

I couldn’t find my picture of my setup so here it is again. Just a quickie to show how it works. The quick-release paper that came on this picture is off as I am getting ready to work as soon as I publish this. And yes, I store other hobbies under the table.

Here is the protection between work times and progress to date.

Quick release paper protects the sticky surface pre-diamonds.

Nearly finished with right side of picture. This is the position for working.

Orientation of actual picture.

For #Movie/Television Monday I just finished Sweet Magnolias. A great show for background.

It’s okay

I enjoyed Raising Dion.

I already miss it!

A quick update of editing. I’ve added to my new project 4,748. I can’t remember if I shared that. This was my second NaNo written probably 2002. Yikes! 20 years ago! And it’s easy to see what a pantser I was way back then. Lots of rewrites ahead.

Okay. My Diamond Painting is shouting to me. See ya soon! What are you making/watching?

One-Liner Wednesday

Per Linda:

If you would like to participate in this prompt, feel free to use the “One-Liner Wednesday” title in your post, and if you do, you can ping back here to help your blog get more exposure. To execute a pingback, just copy the URL in the address bar on this post, and paste it somewhere in the body of your post. Your link will show up in the comments below. Please ensure that the One-Liner Wednesday you’re pinging back to is this week’s! Otherwise, no one will likely see it but me.

NOTE: Pingbacks only work from WordPress sites. If you’re self-hosted or are participating from another host, like Blogger, please leave a link to your post in the comments below.

As with Stream of Consciousness Saturday (SoCS), if you see a pingback from someone else in my comment section, click and have a read. It’s bound to be short and sweet.

Unlike SoCS, this is not a prompt so there’s no need to stick to the same “theme.”

The rules that I’ve made for myself (but don’t always follow) for “One-Liner Wednesday” are:

1. Make it one sentence.

2. Try to make it either funny or inspirational.

3. Use our unique tag #1linerWeds.

4. Add our lovely badge to your post for extra exposure!

5. Have fun!

Because I don’t like sarcasm or facetious remarks, I’ll forgo the #JusJoJan for this last day.

I don’t know if I shared the black painted “framed” *TARDIS in Starry Night.

Didn’t get the whole picture but I think you get the idea. Now I need to pick up some Command Strips to hang it on the wall.

Here’s a little for those who haven’t crossed paths with Doctor Who.<— Wiki

Here is the progress on my newest diamond project. In five days I’ve manage the lower right, of the sandy beach of Beach Sunset. The whole preview on the right. Sideways. This one is worked horizontally and sideways. I need to use the straightener to get my lines more even.

The slipper socks are nearly finished. I’m still working the cuffs.

What are you working on?

Done with the dots and Mod Podge. Tomorrow, black paint framing.

Yesterday, I kitted up the new project.

Here’s the preview and key.

The ‘diamonds’ come in little packets. With this project it’s even better as they are in little ziplock bags. The numbers correspond to the key on the canvas.

One side of cellophane bag.
The other side.
I have these containers that I think are less dumpable. So I labeled per key.
Progress so far.

And knitting is still keeping me out of trouble. This pair going to the charity. I’ll give the play by play when finished.

So soft. I wish they fit me! Not really. I feel good that someone might feel more comfortable in their life.

Per Linda:

Your prompt for #JusJoJan and my very first birthday-Stream-of-Consciousness-Saturday is: “icing on the cake.” Write about the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the phrase “icing on the cake.” Enjoy!

Remember how I felt I was finished with my Doctor Who Starry Night Diamond Painting? I had thought poking in the last few diamonds, cover with protective, glossy, Modge Podge would be it. But finding those last few empty spots to fill, figuring out what number you are looking at, even with a magnifying glass, seemed nearly impossible. But I was now down to one or two spots. I reached over to look at my Fire to hit the pause. Instead, I knocked over the full container of the number I was aiming for next.

The icing on the cake was finding most of the gems fell on the floor. That’s when I learned how many had fallen since I started the project. A quick sweep produced a huge pile of multicolored plastic bits and hair and dust. Yuck! I need one of those cute little vacuum cleaners made just for diamond painters. I spent most of the day cleaning the mess. Then I finished the popping on diamonds. And finally organized the leftovers from this project. As soon as I cover the painting with the gloss and paint on a frame I’ll take it’s last picture.

I can’t wait to start my next and actually my first DA project. I ordered it LAST January, received it last June. But my friend gifted this Doctor Who to me and my other friend and herself. So it became a group project. It was fun chatting and working together on Zoom.

In the moment, I feel uninspired. In the moment, I feel accomplished.

Another pair for charity.
The next pair toe to foot.
In the moment, I wish I had a TARDIS I could fly away on. But that might take energy and/or inspiration as to where or when to go. Instead, in the moment, I prefer to be knitting or Diamond Painting.

Enjoy your weekend! I’m enjoying mine!
