Kali Sees Something is Up

20170314_122511

Hey, MommaDar! Come down and walk with me. You have on your clunky Crocs so you’ll be okay.

20170314_122422

I see spring all around. But do you smell that?

20170314_122209

I think it is the dog in the sky. I think I smell that wet stuff.

20170314_133355

And the same stuff over there.

20170314_133355

And do you guys know what MommaDar said to me? She said that wet stuff is called rain. And rain is what makes this:

20170314_133029

She calls weeds, I call grass and I like it to chew.

20170314_133035

That turns into this which makes MommaDar A-choo!

20170314_13321120170314_133324

But the buds on these trees, especially the little apple tree makes her happy. So the Wet Stuff can come help us. Thanks for walking with me!

Share Your World–Monday

Do you push the elevator button more than once?  Do you really believe it makes the elevator faster?

Oh, that would be silly! On the other hand, I think it makes the idiot button thinks there is a crowd waiting to cross the street. That or it gives me something to do when looking at all that traffic.

Do you plan out things usually or do you do them more spontaneous (for example if you are visiting a big city you don’t know?)

Though I get a lot more done if I have a plan, life is meant to be lived. And I have enjoyed many an adventure by the seat of my pants! Yep, I’m a pantzer that likes a bit of an outline.

Describe yourself in at least four uplifting words.

Curious, Escapest, Milliner, Musician, Artist, Friend

If you had a choice which would be your preference salt water beaches, fresh water lakes, ocean cruise, hot tub, ski resort or desert?

Salt water beaches, ocean cruise, hot tub, desert. Though the order is reversed in my living it.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am grateful that I received the battery and adapter for my HP! I am grateful for my mind still working. I’m glad to be learning three languages. I may not be perfect or be able to speak said languages, but I am having fun learning. I am glad my hands work and I can learn to make new things.

I’m looking forward to getting out to see the other Hugger Hat people. Keep your fingers crossed that we can figure out what to do with Kali who can’t be left at home alone.

Today’s blog will be a little short. Not just because it is the prompt of the day, short, that is, but because I am fighting the flare from hell. That nice, sort of productive day yesterday? Yeah. Although it might not be the little tiny, short walk, but the spring allergens floating around our area.  So short blog, short slipper, doubt I’ll finish today. Short day due to naps.

Wow, Am I Tired!

I feel so proud that I have written in this blog every day since the New Year. So I had to make sure I tossed on in here. Okay, so technically it is no longer Thursday, but since this is the end of a very busy day, 12:15 still counts as my Thursday.

This was a unique day in that it was just me and the three furries. Hubby and brother off doing their things. So I caught up on laundry and cleaning this and that. Started some slippers. Then popped myself in the studio and got reacquainted with Moonlight Sonata. Though I could see the spiderwebs of lack of playing the muscular memory held it’s own and it sounded like Music was nearby. As warm is beginning to happen, I expect to be in there more and clear out the webs in my brain and enjoy the process.

I had hoped by now to be outside taking walks with Kali but the wind is still too fierce for me to try. What is that about March’s lions and lambs?

So, that’s all there is and Kali says it’s time to close the computer. She’s pretending to be asleep but her little eye keeps opening.

Battery Woes

I have had my computer a little while. Maybe a couple years? It’s an HP Notebook.
Remind me not to get HP again. From the beginning, the thing heated up so much there was no such thing as putting it on my lap. And the battery wouldn’t hold a charge so we had to go back to the store to get another battery and adapter. Still, it didn’t hold a charge. I’ve always had to keep it plugged in. Could never get far from the outlet, like you’re supposed to with laptops. And NOW it is shutting off when you least expect it.

This put a damper on my day. I’m so far behind on everything because I had to take the time and order new battery and adapter. Why isn’t it easy? I couldn’t find anywhere on the computer where the information of what is needed could be found. Remember in the old days when we ran them on the cover wagons, that you could hover over the icon of the computer and find out everything you needed to know? No. Information. Anywhere! Finally, I shut it down and looked on the back and wrote all those codes down. Remember in those same covered wagon days when we could read those little squiggles? I had to get my trusty cell phone lighted magnifying app to read it all. Thank you, Joey, for your cute blog about that!

Then I go to HP site and off course they only expect you to have a computer for a year because all the info on my computer is long gone. Remember, covered wagonie times when thing could be expected to last at least a little while? If not, you knew it came from Japan or China or Taiwan. But we bought this thinking HP was a pretty reliable name. Yeah, sure. Of course, I know nothing is made here anymore and the plan is to keep a consumer consuming. But out here in the country, there are still covered wagons.

Fade to credits music plays Little House On The Prairie…

Sorry. Just needed to rant. We’ll see if the new battery and adapter will work. They aren’t cheap! Oh, and Kali jumped into my lap as I was writing and–yep had to restart this darned machine. Luckily, WordPress saved it! So I can’t blame them if this is a run-on rant. What laptop should I save up for? I have a tablet but I really need the big screen. I do want it to be light-weight. Who am I kidding? I just need new glasses so I can see.

New Special Friend

For my special friend.

20170305_21131120170305_21135420170305_211504

She got a little camera shy in the end. By the way, the cell phone did it’s thing again. That hair is supposed to be magenta. Now I just need to figure out how to get these special friends together. I made her using LoomaHat’s Tiny Doll pattern and YouTube.

3/3

And that’s just about all I have to say right now. I can’t believe I have actually written here every day since New Year’s Day! <<Patting my own back>>

Another thing, I was thinking today about how grateful I am for all my family and friends. How they all play a part in my life. And though we may not agree on everything, we do all know the love is there, always.

And how I love talking to friends on Google Hangout. It brightens my week and gives me perspective on life. I am such a bad “phone person”. Really. Thinking about talking on the phone can turn me into a puddle of sweat and a pile of shakiness. Even if I am thinking of calling people I love. I don’t get so bad when they call me. I like to think I drop everything and give the conversation my all. I don’t know what that is all about. It just is.

And I had hoped to finish the book I’m reading. It is so good! But I’m only at 97% so maybe tomorrow I can tell you more about it and the thoughts that bubbled up while reading it.

I guess that is all for now. So as my bloggy friend mentioned: March Fo(u)rth and conquer!

20170302_194832

Here are the starts, continuings, and finishings of the day. Kind of a jumbled mess. Let’s see if I can sort this out.

20170302_194929

This little guy is done. That string doesn’t belong to him.

20170302_195008

This little guy still needs arms, a face, and a scarf to keep him warm. (the 2 is for how many rows into the arm I am.

Ribbing on the beginning of a purple hat. Haven’t decided what stitch for the body of the hat.

20170302_222313

Middle of the basket weave rust hat. I am loving working with my oval loom.

On a different note (C#?), I am reading The Shadow Land by Elizabeth Kostova. It is so intriguing that I had to keep my hands busy while listening. This was so inspiring that I had to run into my cold studio and play the piano for a while. I miss playing but that room is SO cold! Found out Kali either doesn’t like the piano (she doesn’t like noises, like cell phones, or computer, etc.) or it was too cold for her, too. The session was long enough to find that muscular memory could still get through a couple favorites. And my ear/eye heard a couple songs I had never played but felt the need, now, to learn to play them. Funny how time away from music makes me feel like I’m dying without it. Can’t wait for the room to get warmer so I can spend more time playing.

While leaving my studio I looked over at the trees. Yeah, the Christmas trees I couldn’t decide about before. Well, the lights don’t work anymore. So I have started the process of putting it all away. I will take the time to see if there is something I can do to fix the lights, otherwise, I will have to buy more by next year. This frees up the space for sofas. We really need sofas in that room for when family and friends come to visit. I know that within the month it will start getting warm enough to want to be in there more.
