One-Liner Wednesday–Spring

It was spring today! I actually enjoyed being outside for a while! Yes, I know there is snow in our future but I was so happy today–and warm enough not to have on a jacket!!!!

What did she say?

Are you sure?

20170301_220514

Spring means WALKS! And lots of time outside!

Ever ran out of gas in your vehicle?

Not that I can remember. But I have been in cars when that happened. It is such a weird feeling to be going along toward a destination and suddenly the car stops. So inconvenient! I think that is how I learned never to let that happen. But I did stretch my luck quite often. Usually waiting to get to the station with the better priced gas.

Which are better: black or green olives?

Black olives are so yummy! Oh, but those stuffed green ones, with garlic or cheese or…okay I just love olives. This question sent me to the fridge thinking I had some. But it was a jar of mushrooms and they weren’t nearly as tasty! Boo!

If you were a great explorer, what would you explore?

Space. The final frontier. Or the ocean. Or caves. Heck, just my backyard, sometimes!

Quotes List: At least three of your favorite quotes?

“But how will I know what I want til I get what I want and I see if I like it?” Cinderella, Into the Woods by Stephen Sondheim.

“Books may well be the only true magic.” Alice Hoffman

“I read so I can live more than one life in more than one place.” Anne Tyler

“The greatest danger to our future is apathy.” Jane Goodall

There are so many more on my GoodReads pages. 18 pages so far…

Optional Bonus question: Β What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?Β

Well, look, we are all still alive and well. Thursday my hubby sees the shoulder specialist and we’ll see what his next step is. He is still hurting pretty bad so I hope there is something they can do about it all.

This little guy is here now.

These guys were unimpressed.

20170227_231602

This little guy needs a face but he is farther along that his buddy still on the loom. I love making these Tiny Dolls. As you can tell by this picture my next project needs to be Getting a Grip (aΒ new one) made.

Another Achievement YaY!

Another ear warmer scarf. I followed the LoomAHat YouTube Tutorial. Just in case you wondered, here is what the back looks like when perched on an oatmeal box (I use themt o hold skeins of yarn so that they don’t get full of cat or dog hair. (I make a hole in the top with a slit from the edge to guide the working yarn into the center.)

When you cut something with scissors, do you move your jaw (as if you were about to chew)?

I don’t think so. But along those same lines, I nearly always find myself smiling when I post a smileyΒ face. πŸ™‚ Does that happen to anyone else?

Do you chew your pens and pencils?

I did in grade school. Don’t know why I stopped. It may have been teasing along the lines of getting lead poisoning. Yes, I was/am rather gullible. I remember those pencils that looked like a beaver had gotten a hold on them, just below the perfectly intact eraser. I learned to do it lower so as to make two pencils out of one. And yes, I know now that that stuff is graphite. But I still don’t put them in my mouth anymore. I think I became a germaphobe.

Are you a collector of anything? Β If so what?

Suddenly, YARN! Β But dragons, sheet music and instruments. Oh, looms!

20170127_233310

By the way, I finished two of these projects. Still working on the blue scarf for my brother for his birthday tomorrow–YIKES! I need to get finished! I have about 14 looms now and usually have two to five projects going at once. Oh! Books! I used to have thousands of tree books, but with moving and needing more space that got widdled down to two shelves and the need for two more. BUT I have about 8K Kindle books. With my bad tracking and focus, I found I do better reading with text-to-speech on. Tree books never had that for me.

What size is your bed?Β

Twin. But with three pets taking it over I need a bigger one! Hubby sleeps in a recliner for his apnea. With his broken shoulder and arthritis, he needs this space that is safe from a flailing spouse. Yes, with my fibro I can flip flop all night long. Only the dog has learned to stay with me and not get hurt.

Optional Bonus question: Β What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?Β

We have found a good space with our lives. There is always too much food–brother works at a produce store. He finally has a car to drive the 8-mile round-trip to work and an occasionalΒ errand. Can’t wait for things to dry and get warmer as we plan to explore our Oregon Outback. So last week falls into that. And my friends and I are learning how to connect on Google Hang-outsΒ so I don’t miss them nearly as much.

Can I hope for Spring? I want to start going outside but the wind is so awful and cold and snow seems to be in the forecast. So I look forward to seeing my friends on the Hang-Out.

I made this using this YouTube from LoomAHatΒ The only difference was that I had already rib stitchedΒ K2P2 rather than the K1P1 that she (Denise M Canela) recommends. Other that that I think this ear warmer scarf turned out great! I started another in green almost immediately.

Another difference is that I had Kali on my lap nearly all the time I was looming. Just like she is right now as I type this. From left to right: pillow, Kali, my legΒ (pink sweatpants) and laptop.

Stuck like glue! I feel loved!

Sometimes you are sitting there minding your own business when someone says they like you.

img_20170217_2102116_rewind

Really?

img_20170217_2102116_rewind_kindlephoto-12986527-1

I’m so excited I can hardly sit still!

I learned about TINK (or Killer as he wants to be called–I think he’s a he–my nose is good but I can’t seem to pull TINK into nose range). They have a 4-legses meet and greet and tell about another one.

img_20170217_2102116_rewind_kindlephoto-12986527

Yeah, this looks like the same picture as the one before but I was so astounded by the news it was hard for MommaDar to get a steady picture. Anyway, the other meet and greet was set up by a 2-legses doctor. But that’s okay, she loves 4-legses!

img_20170217_2102116_rewind_kindlephoto-13040195

This was supposed to be a picture of the rain and snow I had to deal with on our last “outside” but it wasn’t coming down hard enough to show, so another me! I sure am pretty! And I love when MommaDar whispers sweet nothings in my ear! Especially if life is going to be only ‘inside’ for a few days. I don’t like the river at the bottom of my steps. MommaDar says there is nothing she can do to stop this wet weather. Not sure I believe her.

Anyway, glad to meet other bloggers, even if they’re doggers–Kali the poet!

One Line Wednesday–Lapse of Reason

img_20170215_2223274_rewind_kindlephoto-2270029

One black cat (Rosie), one left-over Christmas tree trio, one lapse of reason.

Now do I put it up on the boxes again, just let it sit on the floor adding ambiance to a cold room, or give up and put it away for the year?

Do you sleep with your sheets tucked in or out?Β

I only have a bottom sheet. The duvet cover and comforter are washable so no need for the top one.

Have you stolen a street sign before?

NO!

Do you cut out coupons but then never use them?

That about sums it up. Lots of cutting and organizing but forget to take them to the store, or it wasn’t on the list of what we need in the house. Seems a waste of time for our household.

Do you have freckles?

Tons on my arms. The rest of me is rather sparse.

Optional Bonus question: Β What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?Β

Gosh, last week was so long ago. Husband and I convalesced. That’s always good! Hubby goes to the VA to see if he’ll need surgery on Friday. So I suppose I am looking forward to actually knowing what’s next. He’s feeling better so I’m hoping his shoulder is healing on it’s own.

Most of my FaceBook friends/family know about my fall today so no need to tell it twice (I’m okay, just bruised ego): Β https://www.facebook.com/Sanddar/posts/10210811873069033?comment_id=10210815053548543&notif_t=feed_comment&notif_id=1487020663423084
