Used these two tutorials to help out. I’ve nearly memorized both.
What makes me very happy is seeing all the family that live with me, were wearing their slipper socks during these chilly days and loving them. I hope this pair finds happy feet.
I’m in love with these. Sadly, they are not my size. Hopefully, they will be finished after a bit of ankle then a cuff. Can’t wait to see the finished product!
Long leggings. I love the colors, but am not as excited doing these as actual socks.
These are ankle and cuff from being done. I hope I can finish these and the pinkies on top by the weekend.
Really, I’m more excited about actually finishing my laundry today. Oh. I still have a couple dishes in the sink. You’ll hear my Ta-Da before I go to bed.
Finally! I think I’ve been working on these socks off and on for at least a year. I started off trying Crazy Sick Lady Vanilla Socks on Hiya Hiya Flyers then moved the project to Chiaogoo red-laced short cable needles. All that was too fiddly for me. I eventually transferred the socks to a long Chiaogoo red-laced cable of the same size. Finally, I felt I could finish.
Let me say, I don’t like working too down. I didn’t like how to do the heel. I certainly don’t like doing the Kitchener toe, though I think I did it okay for once.
See the yarn bits left? I was in a game of yarn chicken. But I made it with enough to patch little bits.
I do think I’ll try again on children’s socks. I think it is good to learn other techniques. And practice a few times.
Meanwhile, for the last two or three days I’ve been learning to make leg warmers. I had up to 2 inches but had to frog it and start over.
I couldn’t find a leg-warmer two at a time pattern. I really need to do it that way as I know my ADD will leave me with only one..
Suddenly I realized, DUH! Just use measurements for the cast on of the leg-warmer patterns I did find. Then follow the tutorials for Two-At-A-Time Top Down socks. Like this one-
Look what I found at BiMart when I went to town last. $14.99 I thought it would be fun to learn. It is a cheapy but to learn tuning and chords will be fun.3 more inches to heel turning. Here’s the nightmare. I was working the socks below on another pair of these. And the joint between the needle and the cord broke. May I advise you, never buy Knitter’s Pride Royal cable needles. The way the cord curls up and tangled with the yarn will have words coming out you didn’t think you knew.So I transferred from the broken cord and needles to Double ended needles and then to these shorties. I don’t like working socks singularly. Ugh! So I transfered back onto those hateful Royals until my new Chiaogoo red-laced cable needles get here. At least I don’t have to stop working these fun slipper socks. These I found tucked away and forgotten. But a birthday or Christmas gift is closer than I thought.
I actually started editing the NaNo Empty today. There is more I need to write but going through bit by bit will help me see where parts of the untold story go.
Exciting help for writing at 4 and 6 AM as my characters woke me and demanded ‘The End’ and then an Epilogue. Ha!
Yep, I made it! Thanks for all your support! There is still more story I need to write, but now there isn’t that deadline effect. I’ll add more as I edit over the next couple of days.
This is the second hat as part of a couple’s gift I’m working on.
Feeling accomplished and happy.
For your support. Especially, Yvensong who suffered long anxious write-ins with me.
Three pairs of socks at different stages. Mostly Chiaogoo red-laced TAAT Toe-up. The pink socks are on Knitter’s Pride Royal. (Hate! can’t wait to get a better set!)
Hat in progress
