One-Liner Wednesday

Found on Facebook. I totally agree!

Join the One-Liner Wednesday fun. Thanks Linda!

So unfortunately the lighthouse is finished. My next project won’t be here until Wednesday. I’m at loose ends. Meanwhile, I still need to straighten, seal and hang it.

I finally hung the tea dragon on the tea cabinet. My phone camera was being weird.  It looks far better than this.

I’m nearing my goal on my memoir for Junowrimo.

Look! Only 367 until 50k! Oh yeah. Snap! That wasn’t the goal for June. 55,100 is the goal. I think I can…
Sock number one is nearly done. Probably finishing it tomorrow.
I know we can!

Sunday Sunshine

If I haven’t stated it before. I love CBS Sunday Morning. I always find something that makes me happy or educates me. This segment was so enlightening.

Another favorite segment was this man of passion I met in the movie White Knights.

And just in case you never saw White Knights, which I don’t think they mentioned:

This was probably my favorite part. What passion shows in these two men as they perform!

There was so much more to the show this morning that I would have to drive you to YouTube a lot. But there are segments on YT that you can see of Jim Croce’s son, a Little Shell, and of course, the moment of zen that my husband and I look forward to and regret as it means the show is over for the week.

Another Thing

I saw this on Facebook. It reminded me of a morning recently. It was quiet. It’s that weird sensation when the fridge quits running? Yeah. Quiet like that.

Just like that, I decided we were having a blackout. No prob. I’m flexible. I can read, knit, play piano, diamond painting, write.

I went in the living room and pulled out Morning Pages and started writing.

About an hour into it my husband walked into the room. I said, “I assume the bill got paid and this is just a blackout.”

He sweetly pointed to the kitchen lights glaring at me.

I had tears running down my face from laughing so hard.

I’m more resilient than I need to be!

Linda G. Hill presents: Stream of Consciousness Saturday

2019-2020 SoCS Badge by Shelley! https://www.quaintrevival.com/

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “a picture from wherever.” When you sit down to write your post, find a picture, whether in a magazine, newspaper, or even product packaging. Write whatever thought or emotion the picture provokes. Enjoy!

When I see the moment the sun and water marry, I feel more alive than ever. And love to my core.

Tuesday Tidbits

So I took a nap with Kali. After I got up the cats joined Kali. Like they couldn’t wait for me to let them have THEIR bed!
That’s Kali on the left, Teddy to the right. (At least they don’t take over my pillows.)
Here’s Rosey at the end of the bed.
I almost forgot to share our moment of spring. The mesquite is in bloom. Today was hot enough for shorts. Next week summer.

My natural life in motion.

My friend is visiting! Yay! So just a quick catch up.

Progress of lighthouse.
Just a cute touching bit from Facebook.

You all have a

More like sort of beginning.

I’m at 41,852 in the autobiography. Dividing it up like this between three months is nearly painless.

I finally got the beach sunset up. Square drills are the worst! Some are still trying to pop off. I hated my painted frame. I used too much sealant trying to keep those tiles on. So the idea of a sunset on a beach is on the wall above the piano. My dream area in Dar’s Dabbling Den, right next to my gifted Mermaid (thank you, Georgia). Yeah. Now I see they need to be straightened. And tenor recorder tried to get into the act.

I started a new diamond painting. A lighthouse. It is bigger than others I’ve done. It’s for my husband.

Here’s a quick unboxing.

Size. And look how great those symbols look. This should be easy!
It came with easy instructions.
Two pens and cushions instead of just one. At least two waxes.
Lots of little baggies.
Open on my easel in my drill catching tray/lid. The bags of colors.
Another look at the drills in baggies.
Here’s my first days work. That bit on the upper right. I had to roll up the left side to fit in my easel.
Today’s work. Play!

Knitting socks continues but less than the diamond painting. But the progress doesn’t show up much in pics, just a couple rows each.

So what have you been up to? Being retired is great!

Throwback Thursday

I just saw this on Willow’s blog. Her answers were cute. Thought I’d play along. Thanks, Willow!

Throwback Thursday #41 – First Crush

Welcome back to Throwback Thursday, the brainchild of Maggie and Lauren. This week it is Maggie’s turn to pick our theme.

Your First Crush.

Who was your first crush? First names only!

Richard Chamberlain (Dr Kildare) Sorry it would make no sense saying Richard.

Was this a celebrity or someone you knew ?

Celebrity

How old were you?

12

How old was your crush?

An adult

Did you let your crush know you liked them? If so, how?

No. But had I known how to let him know how strong it was… I could’ve been killed for propping up a mirror system so I could watch from bed, where I was supposed to be asleep. Every week. I don’t think my folks ever found out.

Did your crush like you, too? How did you know?

Sadly, no. And now I realize I wasn’t his type if far too young.

Did you get teased by your family for having a boyfriend or girlfriend?

Nobody knew.

Did you feel like you were in love or did you think it was simply a fleeting crush?

I had no clue. I was pretty naive as a kid. Maybe still.

Was this just a temporary crush or your first heartbreak?

I’m still not over him.

When you think of that person today, do you have fond memories of them?

Absolutely!!!!!!
