The original prompts for this month can be found here:  http://www.a-to-zchallenge.com

But I find the page and process a bit much this year. So I’ve gone rogue. A renegade of the blogosphere.

But the beauty at the end of the last false spring day brings near tears to my eyes. See those dark clouds on the horizon? That’s the beginning of a few more days of blizzardy, blustery cold. We might even get snow. If so I may try to go out and throw a ball or two. But I’ll be dreaming about scenes like this.

My diamond painted beach helps me feel wet sand between my toes.

Bringing beach images begets being at the beach. Bottom line.

A to Z Challenge

The most challenging aspect of the a-z challenge is figuring out how to sign up. Then the next problem is bringing pictures over and finding, say, A. The first one I see is about overall. The next thing I find is the B post for tomorrow.

So once again I guess I’m going rogue. Hey, the alphabet belongs to all. I do want to give the originators of this fun month the credit they deserve. So while all rogue I’ll make sure to link back the best I can.

Since I couldn’t find the A graphic to download

While I wait for the stock picture above to upload, I’ll catch you up on my beach diamond painting. Almost halfway done.

From an airplane it might look like a beach scene.

My little lighthouse that I diamond paint in my recliner is almost halfway through, too.

It is harder to work on. It is small and the drills are inconsistent sizes. It was very inexpensive. I may try to use this for an idea I’m working on. Art. I may paint over or use leftover drills to add dimensions. I don’t know. It’s just popping around in my head. We’ll see how it works out.

And now it’s time for ukulele playtime.

Yes, my hair has grown out and it isn’t always purple.

I Hope

You had a blessed and happy day

Thanks Linda!

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “plain/plane.” Use one, use ’em both, bonus points if you get ’em both in your post. Have fun!

Well, I sat on this all day. All I could think of was flying to Wisconsin to see my daughter and her new family. I love flying in planes. Lately the news makes it scary. But letting go of the fear, I love a window seat. I love watching the world get tiny. Tiny cars, then tiny buildings, tiny mountains.

Where I was raised hay was made into rectangular cubes. But as we flew over plains and fields we saw huge cylinders. The first time I saw that I was flying with my dad to see my Aunt and Uncle. When we landed we asked about the cylinders. They told us it was how ranchers fixed their hay.

Now I live where those cylinders gather in fields at the end of the block.

It isn’t just from a plane that the world seems small.

I wanted to fit in getting a cup of plain Greek yogurt but it’s too late for that.

I start my morning watching shows and knitting. I want to pay attention to the show and knitting is a busy hands pay attention hobby, mostly.

Both pairs of socks seem to have landed at the arch ribbing at the same time. I hate it when that happens. I like when each pair are on separate levels.
Just as I was trying to take pics for today’s blog, Dear Sweet Old Rosey jumped on my lap. One is never finished loving one’s pets.
I’m gonna blow my own horn here. After YEARS of trying to learn Sudoku, I think I’m finally learning. I found this book at Dollar General.
I have managed to get to the Medium level with very few peeks at the answer page and then only to check if I was right. Yay! Me!
This is the book I’m nearly finished with. Okay, I’m not a kid. But I like to work from the very beginning with recognizable songs.
I’ve been working with these two for a while. I’m getting smoother in the cord changes.
This one I don’t have to look at any more. I’m fact, I should erase my cheat G7.
This is what I’m starting next. Learning strum patterns. I never needed such animals in piano.😂
So excited to get to learn Imagine with Bernadette’s strumming instructions.
Look! Lyrics!
And I’m learning to play individual notes. Yay!
Yeah, I’m still learning most of these chords
Another note by note I’m learning.
Speaking of Ukulele… I’m trying to Tunisian Crochet a strap for my uke. The trouble with Tunisian Crochet is how it rolls up.
It stretches out to the length of the uke. I need to double that. This should be interesting.
I’m almost finished with 1/3 of the beach diamond painting.
And as of today… I should be there on the blog but seemed to have published a lot after midnight too often.

And now it’s time to strum and recordize.

Reblog About Radios

Here’s my reply to Teleportingweena:

I’ve never had a chance at shortwave, we had walkie talkies when we moved that helped the four vehicles keep in contact. But my favorite was a transister radio. My dad gave it to me at about the same age, 11. He also gave me a long tube speaker. My friend and I walked around the track with her and we listened to Old Rivers and Mr by Walter Brennan. My best memory of the little radio.

I think I’ll copy this and reblog your post. I’d like to have that alphabet easy to find. My husband uses them when spelling his name out on the phone. Sometimes I’d like to do that but I mess it up. Every time!

My memories of my little transister radio. Before long Beatles kept my ears on the radio along with Motown.

Found on Facebook (Thanks Cher)❤️
Thanks Linda!

From Facebook

My husband got a new guitar yesterday. Is it wrong of me to be excited that we might jam one of these days?🎸🪈🎵🎶

Not me or my ukulele.

My new diamond painting is started.

The foreground is started.
Nearly finished with the arch of these socks.
Beginning the arch on these socks.

Because of watching

I’ve added Chinese to my Duolingo lineup. I highly recommend this show. Not a movie but a series. My husband and I couldn’t stop the binge.

I’m trying to find a way to put my biggest guilt trips here.  The end of the month is looming. Two goals haven’t even been touched. I haven’t edited anything. Nor have I worked on my read-alouds or podcast. Finding privacy and time seems the biggest issue. Nor have I touched the real piano. Boo! Next month is Camp NaNo. I have no idea what I’m doing. And so I’m Muddling my mind.

Time for uke and recorders and roll up keyboard.

The Shelters of Stone (Earth's Children, #5)The Shelters of Stone by Jean M. Auel
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Below is a previous and better review than the one my tired mind can express at this time of night. It includes all the praises of the narrator, Sandra Burr, and the author Jean M. Auel. Besides, I really want to get started reading/listening to the sixth and last book of the series. My cousin told me she had reread them recently and that she didn’t like the last book. I’m anxious to be reminded how I felt about it and re-enjoy the book again.

I highly recommend this series if you haven’t read it. And if you have, a re-read is always fun.
~~~
As with the others in this series, I listened to Sandra Burr on the Audible version while reading along on my Kindle. I have really grown in awe of Ms. Burr’s narrative abilities. It is like I see only the characters and landscape in my head rather than thinking it is an actual person reading to me. How she can maintain the voices of each character so seamlessly is baffling! I’d love to see her in her processes, preparing for each part of the story and each person represented. Just amazing!
Ms. Auel’s story is still fresh and keeps me curious as I read. There are parts that are getting a bit overdone, but considering that this book doesn’t involve the travel angst that the previous books had, stay-at-home boredom seems inevitable. Yet it isn’t boring.
The research evidence throughout all these books is overwhelming! Yet, it is presented as part of the story. In this way, Ayla’s story comes to life. You want to believe that this little family did exist.
