I think Nora Roberts is now my favorite author and Barrie Kreinik is my favorite narrator. This Dragon Heart Legacy series has been a blast. I loved every minute of time I spent in that world with those characters.

Fantasies and romances get boring and predictable. Mostly predictible in that I know the writer is going to try to make the book more exciting. But I am not looking for exciting. I’m looking for connections and travel and quieter life with similar problems solved differently, or finding talents in being with folks who are supportive. And even if the one you love starts out gruff, he can learn new ways of thinking and acting.

As soon as I can I am going to buy the Audible version of this series. This version was from Libby. A great series I already miss.

Nora Roberts is becoming one of my favorite authors. Barrie Kreinik is one of the best narrators; not a single character sounds like any other, and each person’s emotions are clear. So their teamwork makes this one of the best fantasy series I’ve read in a long time. Book two develops the worlds and the conflict between the angry fae and those who prefer living peacefully.

Moving between modern Ireland and fae country seems seamless under the laws Ms. Roberts established in her novel. There doesn’t seem to be any jarring culture shock as the main characters move between them. That satisfies this reader who wishes to live in each land.

If you’re looking for a fun read/listen, pick up this series. Luckily, Libby had it. Now on to reading number three.

I can’t decide which person I am most impressed with: Nora Roberts with the writing, or Barrie Kreinik and her versatile storytelling.

Fantasy usually bugs me. Too scary, too weird that ghosts, vampires, werefolk, etc. interbreed. I like the adventure and opportunity to travel to new lands, but the rest… Anyway, this book followed a different path. The romance wasn’t a gaga kind of love, but rather, different kinds of love are featured: friends and family, and a bit of romance. The main character’s trainer is tough and doesn’t take any flak from his new trainee, but you see that it isn’t out of hate or meanness, but rather out of a hope to instill enough fear in the newbie to take it seriously.

Apologies are always handy in this story. I rarely see that kind of person written about. I get upset with most books that they don’t take responsibility for actions or emotions.

Some would say this was boring, but I loved it more than I do most fantasy. And as I said before, the narrator was fantastic.

No sooner did I finish this book than I went back to Libby to borrow the next book in the series. I’m loving it, too!

A four-star rating is pushing it. Mainly because I decided to try to read Book Two, I’m hoping it will get better. I picked this first book up in 2013. I kept putting off reading it. I was getting tired of Young Adult books, even then. Most are so angsty. Sadly, thirteen years later, I feel the same way.

The story started interesting enough, but as soon as the main character gets with the elves, the angst starts. ‘Why doesn’t he pay more attention to me? I can’t help myself; I have to kiss him. I know he’s bad for me, etc., etc.’

I pushed myself to get through this with Kindle Text-to-Speech. But it still was hard to read/listen to.

Okay, I will admit I was probably not the preferred audience; 76 is not YA, except in my own mind.

By the way, you can get this as a Kindle Unlimited title. Maybe you’ll like it better than I did.

Brittany Pressley narrates this second book of the Lost Bride Trilogy as she did the first and third. She brings all the characters, embodied and disembodied, with clarity and humor.

Nora Roberts is becoming a favorite author for me. I am sure these books come across on the page as well as they do in audiobook form.

These aren’t terribly scary but there are moments of terror. Not so much that you can’t read it before sleep.

As the title suggests, this book takes it up a notch: the main character, Sonya, is forced to attend ancestors’ weddings in the past. Through the looking glass (Mirror)!

I enjoyed this so much that I immediately went to Libby and got the next book in the series. So far I am not disappointed.

Please read these if you get the chance.

I’m becoming a fan of Nora Roberts. After finishing my last read at midnight, I searched for available audiobooks on Libby. I saw one of hers and decided that would do it. Brittany Pressley narrated this contemporary story. With ghosts!

The main character has spirit to spare, and she takes over her inherited manor with a gusto she didn’t expect to find. The main characters are fun and keep the story going. There’s even a dog that plays an important role.

It only took two nights of reading to finish and start the next book in the series. I can’t wait to continue

If you get the chance, pick this one up. I think you’ll like it, too.

This was my favorite of the Memory House series. The series doesn’t have so many characters in common. Instead, there are threads of common ground. People meeting and supporting others. This book started sadly, but stick with it as magic will happen. Common sense and caring. Those are the silver threads. I don’t think that was a spoiler. Just the gift of these books.

This book was the last of the series, and it, too, was a Kindle Unlimited. These are short books that took only a couple of nights to read. I think you’ll like them. A nice escape from the stress of life right now.

I found this near the bottom of my currently reading shelf. As I started reading book two, I realized I had read book one ages ago. So I decided to quickly get into the third book.

These were mysteries like bodies, and searching for answers. But the main characters have psychic abilities.

This last book tied up all the loose ends, making the end soothing. I did enjoy that bit.

These are worth a read, even if the abilities probably wouldn’t be admissible in court.

This is the second book in this series. I started the first a few years ago. But this book had me remembering the first part of the story.

Though it was a thrilling adventure, I had a hard time with the back-and-forth between times. I think it was because I had to read using Kindle text-to-speech. Maybe if you have the visual cue of dates or years at the beginning of the chapter, you don’t get lost?

I wish there were a bit more of a paranormal feel rather than feeling like a regular whodunit police mystery. But I can imagine the mystery people not wanting any paranormal. I guess you can’t please everyone.

Since I already have book three in my Kindle, I will move on to see how this series ends.

I don’t know if I was off or if text-to-speech couldn’t help me stay focused, but I kept getting lost. I still have an image clear as a portrait of a girl giving her nightgown as her skin? But later, I realized it was the male who was the selkie. Where did his fur go? I’m sorry. Bedtime grogginess? Life issues got in the way?

Terri Farley has written many horse stories. I have many on my TBR list. But the ones I did get to, I have enjoyed. And I did like the time on the beach and the time spent with the characters. I just found myself lost at times. Maybe I’ll read it again later.

Maybe this book isn’t meant for 76-year-olds, though I often still feel I am in touch with the inner teen. I don’t know. I hope others love it.
