Zero Energy

For the last two days I feel like I’m out of batteries. It might be the

Sleep last night.

I’m Tired

It’s been a long day that’s ended with dilated pupils and few words. I hope you don’t mind if I skip the rest of this blogging for today. I’ll catch you up tomorrow.

New Shoes

I’m so tired. But look what I got from our town run!

These are ASICS gel running shoes for my #none2run program. Which will start out as mostly walking.

Now I’m going to bed.

Made it, Monday

Well, I made it to my daughter’s. It was a long but fun ride with my friend. We enjoyed 60s oldies to get us through the trip.

Sadly, we had to drive through a lot of smoke to get into Reno. So much burned on either side of the freeway. A lot of home lost or in danger. Many were evacuated awaiting a chance to see if they still have homes. It’s so sad.

My people are safe. But this is not so for so many.

Meanwhile, temps are in the triple digits. Thank goodness for AC in the homes I’m visiting.

I’m so tired from the trip I think I’ll retire early.

My rocker recliner is my best friend. Not only has it kept me in isolation from the covid, now it has rescued me from four days of traveling for four hours a day. I am in this rocker recliner and I’m staying and that’s all I’ve got to say about that.

Ich Bin Mรผde!

Sorry, I’m stuck in Duolingo German! I am tired! Three days this week, spending 3 or 4 hours driving. I’m worn out. And I need to go back tomorrow.

I remember when I was 22, my husband and I drove 4 hours to see our folks. At that age, 4 hours of driving a day were tiring.

Some people here do this every day. They drive those hours to get to and from work. They must have terrific jobs, and they must pay them a lot of money because I’m going through a lot of money just going back and forth.

Anyway, my husband is spending one more night at the hospital. They found that he had two ulcers from taking medications that were messing him up. So maybe the fall that sent him to the hospital actually found things before they caused too much trouble. They just needed to watch him overnight.

At another time, I could have stayed with him at night, but with the fear of COVID19, they try to make sure that there’s only one visitor and the visitor can only stay during the daytime.ย  I think that my own fear, having heard how much the hospital is dealing with new and more dangerous cases in younger people, has me extra cautious. Even though we are vaccinated, I fear that there are still strains or other types of flu just waiting for those who aren’t vigilant. I haven’t gotten the other cases of flu for decades as keeping isolated during outbreaks. At the time, I thought I was allergic to the vaccines. It was a doctor that told me not to take the shots after a bad outcome one year. Now though, I’ve heard they are no longer making them with albumin, so I may be taking the shots from now on.ย  But like many, I have a few immune issues, and so I have been conscientious. It isn’t that I’m afraid of dying. I don’t like being sick. Been there, done that, and being in bed unable to do anything while being miserable is worth fighting against!

Well, midnight is creeping up, and I need to get to bed and get ready for another ride. Okay. It isn’t all horrid. I am getting lots of singing done. Great for breath and mental health! And the view through the mountainous areas with trees and the occasional deer is so peaceful. I’m glad that the pain I used to get through that part of the ride is down to just a little achy and not an all-over pain storm. Still, I am going to be happy without going any more this week!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

have a good weekend

Thus Thursday

Do you ever feel like this? A most unproductive day. Much nap, little knit. Maybe a good night’s sleep and I’ll be back to normal.

Hope your day had more fun and energy. ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ’œ

Mรผde Montag

I don’t know why I’m so tired today.  But:

Hope you had a good one.

What Day Is It Anyway? Monday.

You know why I think it is Monday? I am almost always more tired on Monday than the rest of the week. How is that? We do nothing more on the weekend than the other days of the week. But here I am wishing I had stayed in bed all day. Allergies are keeping me from breathing. Ah, but I got to enjoy zooming with the writers’ group. Kind of like this only on Zoom.

Oh, I think by tomorrow my daughter’s boyfriend’s first sock will be finished. It has taken a whole skein. That’s new for me as most fem socks leave a little at the end of the skein. Then sock number two is at the ribbing stage so it won’t be long until I can send a package of socks to them, Sure they might not get to wear them until late fall early winter as they do have wool and will be too hot for now, but I think they will like them. I do.

So those are the highlights of my day.

This is me this week:

I’m afraid that after the long trip on Monday and the back/body strain of the rough road I had to cancel my dental appointment today in yet another far away town. Just couldn’t do it! But being on the computer has my eyes going crazy like this poor gal:

Not only is the eyestrain an issue but I can’t get comfortable even with the laptop or tablet. That is one of the reasons my blogs has been cut short lately. And the lack of prompts causes brain strain. I liked the A-to-Z Challenge and doing CampNaNo because they give me a kickstart. But between the first picture me and the second picture me the strain is too great to do much. Back to sock knitting!

The prompt Strain comes from Linda G. Hill and the Stream of Consciousness Saturday challenge.
