One-Liner Wednesday

Yep. Me and fam. And a lot of CVers showed up.

This is what today looked like on the only day for the medical team to drive 150 miles. Treacherous drive over mountain passes. Here’s what it looked like here:

Look at the blue sky!
At the community health center looking toward the park.
The park
The park

Here’s the crazy orange moon close to the horizon giving a street light competition.

Not the clearest picture. It was cold and I was standing on a pile of snow in Crocs. Okay. Dumb.

Thankful

Thankfully, Chris came out okay. The doctor said it was an anomaly and said just watch him and take it easy for a couple days. She asked if there was anything else we needed. I was feeling silly and gasped for coffee. This sweet doctor went to the doctor’s lounge and picked up two cups for us. She knew leaving for Christmas Valley at 1:00 would put sleepy people out driving at a dangerous time on scary roads. I could’ve kissed her! It was strong and hot!! It was so cold outside. It even snowed on the way home. It didn’t stick but I was excited. Don’t you love watching snow aiming for the windshield in the dark? It’s amazing! Like a spaceship in warp drive.

I’m grateful my husband is fine. That we got home safely. And I’m grateful for a day to sleep in and off.

I’m grateful that my brother and husband can fix the shower.

Meanwhile, it is getting cold at night. We have a 15 degree night coming up this week. Ugh! Give me snow!!!

I’m grateful for friends and family and the love shown to us for Chris’s sake.

Feel the love!

Stream of Consciousness Saturday is Linda G. Hill’s prompt. Here’s today’s.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “start with why.” Begin your post with the word “why.” Have fun!

Why? All on it’s own is a good question. But what makes any of us think it’s personal? A better question would be, Why not? Clears it up. So rather than dwell in self pity. We can look at the bigger pictures.

Sure we can learn from our mistakes. But I’ve given up on Karma. That illness or accidents are the results of bad character. Hurricanes and quakes are not the caused by sin.

It’s best to see the problem and work out how to make life better for yourself and others. Then move on. Til the next why.

Why not? Summer didn’t do it’s job.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “board/bored.” Use one, or use them both for bonus points. Enjoy!

When are board meetings anything boring. Yeah, leaving everyone stuff as a board.

Since my shoulder pain is stopping me from a lot of my hobbies -well, for as long as I usually ‘play’- I’m seeing how everyone else watches shows. Is boredom this antsy, can’t pay attention, feeling? Is my itchy hands not having something to do a bore? Like an awl boring into my soul. I can’t wait to be whole again.

Bored? Whittle this board. Oh, wait. I can’t. 😥

Time to learn something new.

Twisted Tuesday

I don’t know how the day went weird. But here are some things that seem weird.

Why is she wearing her fitness watch on her ankle?

You may ask. We got a treadmill. But my watch didn’t pick up any steps because my hands were on the handles. Now maybe I’ll get a true reading. I’ll let you know tomorrow. Hey, do any of you have issues with burning from the sensors? It may be my allergies to metals. So far my ankle is fine.

I decided I needed to get back into needle knitting. It seems very new again. So my brain needs to rewire.

Oh, remember I told you about my sore shoulder? Well, I’ve been icing. I invented a way to do this. I have a hooded T-shirt. The icy container is in the hood and I can move it around to different parts of my back and shoulder. I’d give you a picture but can’t figure out how. Guess you’ll have to use your imagination. 😉

Guess I’ll go try and relearn my knitting.

Finished and Started

Yay! Finished the waterfall.
My next project. To go with Starry Night Doctor Who.
How the diamonds came.
The packaging
The picture straight from the box.
Color symbol chart

I kitted down for waterfall, then kitted up for Starry Night. I’ll never do that again. My right arm, shoulder, and back are killing me. I should have at least taken breaks to stretch. The annoying part is: I’m so addicted to Diamond Painting that I have a hard time stopping.

Back to the Aspercreme, Advil, ice, and stretching.

I’m grateful for my new laptop but have to admit my frustrations of starting over. All my writing in yWriter7 and WriteItNow and Scrivener are stuck in RTF form and tons of work awaits to bring them back to life. So that’s my time lately in a nutshell.

Sadly I have to report I didn’t get but half my word count goal this month. But I had a marvelous time with family and friends, so not really complaining. Just reporting.

Purple waterfall is nearly finished. Front lit.
Back lit
These charms are finished on both sides. I still need to apply sealant and then figure how to make the mobile out of them.
This is the next hand-held charm to work on. These are great for times when you don’t want to bend over the bigger pictures.
Barely made any headway on these. They are almost finished!
Started another pair of cotton spa slippers. I love this yarn my friend gifted me.
Today our three furries had a vet appointment. These two seem none the worse for the wear. Three hours in the non-AC truck can with all windows open. But their prognoses (is that plural?), Rosey, the black one is old but healthiest of the bunch. Not even considered overweight. Her seizures to be watched, nothing more to be done. Teddy, the ginger, has cancer sores in his mouth and had to get a steroid shot. And drops to take. He hates that.
Kali is old and has arthritis, is deaf, with cataracts. Nothing we can do but give pain meds. She is meandering as is her habit. That’s why the picture is blurry. It’s probably time for her meds . Poor babies.

While my brother and husband did the vet run. My son and I cleaned. He worked on the out of control mud room. I shampooed the carpets. It was nice not to have furballs in the way. We were successful in our ventures. Now I need to finish cleaning out the shampooer. Yuck!

The Artist Way, Morning Pages Journal.

That’s what I try to share here. Things that bring me joy.

The things I make aren’t professional, but I love working on projects and finishing.

Here’s one

Yahoo! 100 words extra! Already set up next month’s Junowrimo of 20K more. I miss dragons and planets but Moving (my newest working title of my memoirs) is more fun and more work than I thought it would be.

No pictures until totally finished and hung on walls but working on straightening, sealing, and framing my diamond paintings. I can’t wait to unwrap and kit up my next, a lighthouse for my husband.

No pictures, but continuing knitting a couple pairs of socks.

Spring brings me joy. The mesquite are starting to bloom. I’ll wait until full bloom to capture. But yesterday we caught sight of a bright yellow bird. I thought it was a finch. But today I got a good look. Unfortunately, he kept moving beyond my phone picture range. But I Googled what I saw. Turns out to be a Western Tanager.

Aren’t they beautiful?

And I’m writing this early as today is my last long drive. My final eye recheck is this afternoon. At least not early in the morning. Still, so many 5 hour driving days are so wearing. Maybe by July I will have recovered.

I think tired is the reason I’m not seeing more improvements. My eyes are tired and blurry. I hope to find ways to get better this afternoon.

Speaking of tired. I just realized, this is Tuesday!!!!

And Happy Tuesday!
