I have used this prompt often over the past few weeks. And the push of cleaning then packing has me over done. So tired and sleepy. Time for bed, again!

As serious as the subject matter was, spousal and child abuse, it is full of surprises and positive energy. About a third of the way in, I felt the story finished. But suddenly there’s a part two: a new person who seems too good to be true, but she’s got the kind of attitude I wish I could emulate.
There are definitely some parts that are suspenseful, to the point I had to find something else to read at bedtime. But January LaVoy’s narration brings more energy and loving characters to life.
I was blessed to find this on Libby. I have to admit to enjoying Nora Roberts’s writing more and more.
Because I’m too tired to do even one, much less three book reviews, or anything else.
I think languishing is happening. In fact, I think he/she may be dying. They’ve been hanging out on the sink.

On July 2, 1982, a truck driver from California flew 16,000 feet into the sky in a lawn chair. Larry Walters, 33, from San Pedro, had dreamed of flying his whole life. He bought 42 eight-foot helium weather balloons, tied them to a regular Sears lawn chair, strapped on a parachute, packed a BB gun to pop balloons to descend, a CB radio, sandwiches, and a six-pack of beer. He expected to float a few hundred feet above his backyard. He cut the rope and shot up like a rocket โ to 16,000 feet. He drifted directly into the main approach path for LAX. Two airline pilots radioed the tower: they had just passed a man in a lawn chair holding a gun at 16,000 feet. For 45 minutes, he floated over Los Angeles, freezing cold, too scared to shoot balloons because he might fall. Finally, he started popping balloons one by one and slowly descended. He landed tangled in power lines in Long Beach, California, causing a blackout. When police arrested him, they asked why he did it. He said, “A man can’t just sit around.” The FAA fined him $4,000. Hidden Nature by Nora Roberts

I love Nora Roberts writing. And I love January LaVoy’s narrations. But the suspence of this book made it hard to use as my bedtime book. If kidnapping and murder stay with you read this during the day like I did. That got me past the scary parts. Without that bit the rest of the story about families and relationships pulled me in and wouldn’t let me go.
The book came to me during a time of recuperation. Watching the main character push her recovery and rebuid her life was inspiring to my own health. Despite the thriller parts, this was good for my health.
